I have not had the issues with frame rate dropping, and dont really care about the frame in this part of the game (there is not any action in that town where you may die) If your using a 570 card and your not putting under enought load turn more setting's on. Also how many watts is that seasonic psu, newer gfx card know when there been under power and will scales them selfs back. also there has only been 1 patch for the game!!!! issues are still been addresed

    It stays not at 99%...permanent

If the GPU doesn't work at 99%, it is either 1) a hardware bottleneck (e.g. CPU/RAM/HDD/etc or 2) the application simply isn't demanding that much processing power.

99% would be optimal usage of the GPU, but it doesn't always mean that your framerate will be better (for example when you increase the resolution and/or amount of AA).

I agree with you that 77% is not terrible.

I put my cpu at stock clocks, 2.66ghz and i get the same gpu usage, and then i overclocked it to 3.8ghz and i get the same gpu usage. So, for me isn't a cpu bottleneck, or a hdd, the game is installed on a 60gb ssd vertex 2

Overclocking doesn't perform miracles, so that doesn't really prove or disprove anything. The game's engine probably still has some minor issues as well.

If vsync is not used then either the CPU or GPU will max out.
(The CPU can be restricted by the system memory speed as well so this should be considered in some circumstances. In a similar fashion, the GPU can be restricted by video memory speed.)

Good points. They fall in my definition of a hardware bottleneck.

I'm getting 20fps @ 1920x1200 all setting maxed (including ubersampling)

I thought my rig would give me 80+.

Either SLI is totally broken, or the game is the new Metro

Uber sampling is a next-gen option. Turn it off, even you have gtx580.

SLI scaling is nonexistent as soon as you enable ubersampling.

I'm getting respectable performance in general but the engine/driver is definitely having issues, in some places I can point the camera at the ground and get some pretty serious judder with a single GPU.

Ubersampling is full scene supersampling anti-aliasing (FS SSAA) which has been around since at least the days of GeForce 2, maybe earlier. But you're right, it will perform like crap. It always has.

The question is why does it perform like crap? Gtx580 sli should be ample for any game with ssaa etc

Check CPU and GPU usage with vsync off.

I guess nvidia said it best:

SSAA rarely performs well with the latest and greatest titles, which is why calin05 called it "a next-gen option".

They say that uber sampling is a combination of some special AA and AF and the scene is rendered multiple times to give the best quality. That is why most of the PC are running the game with ubersampling on very low fps. But the overall quality that uber sampling is giving, is not very noticeable.

The very nature of FS SSAA gives the appearance of some level of AF.

Honestly I don't understand why they spent time with that "ubersampling" mode rather than just supporting the better performing (and in my opinion sharper-image-producing) AA methods.

I agree. I think they spent time with ubersampling cuz, they want in their game to have a very hard core option. To put in knees every pc system. I hope they will optimize ubersampling and SSAO,and i think they do this, cuz they did for Witcher 1, releasing huge patcher +300mb and the enhanced edition.

My theory is that they tried to clean up the mess caused by parallax occlusion mapping (POM), where AF couldn't be properly applied to the textures so they inevitably looked blurry even at 16x AF. You may remember Crysis 1 had the same problem.
