Is there any physical way of wiping a hardrive of it's contents other than the obvious, with a cloth. I want to be able to use the drive again so no smashing Just wanted to know if using a windows disk or linux disk isn't the only way.
A very strong magnet, just joking. Make a system disk through Vista and boot to the floppy or CD-rom and make sure that it has FDISK on it. FDISK will erase and reformat to FAT, FAT32 and NTFS formats.
