WIP: High Poly Concept Tank...Made in Max 7

    Hey guys,
    I have been working on a high poly tank for about 4 and a half hours and this is what i have so far...tell me what you guys think

    that is very impressive. But how is the turret supposed to turn with those guns in the way?

    Shame nothing is that detailed in games... You see all the time how consoles (in particular) go "Max polygon count 12,000,000 ((gamecube))" or somthing. *sigh* Well, course they never will go that high.

    Another thing - the spare gasoline on teh side of the tank.. if it gets shot..

    You do realize that number is the amount of polygons on the screen and not how many they can put on one character, right? Cause 12 million polygons isn't that much and can easily be maxed out with a few people on the screen. Ever wondered why some games lagged when there are a lot of peopel on the screen, like Lord of the Rings and all. This is it.

    Need to remove the grating on the far side. Then remove one machine gun. Take the other machine gun and place it by the turret manway. The gun then could be fired manually, or by remote.

    No, they don't. One T-Rex in Jurassic Part is only 75,000 Polys. In fact, there is not one scene on the first test "Return of Proxycon" in 3dMark05 that uses 12,000,000 polygons, or ANY test at any given moment. And it has all those guys on the screen! Amazering! In fact, here is the MAX poly count for the test in 3dMark05 (For high end PC's... Let alone gamecube)

    Return to proxycon: 1,911,720 Polys

    Yeah, REALLY close to the 'easily' maxed out 12,000,000.


    Oh here we go, Xbox specifications:

    Max Polygon Performance 125 M/sec

    Right... You think that can be "easily" maxed out? Heh, this thing will never have to render more than 4 mill at once. It never COULD render 125 Million a second.

    Thats looking sweet m8! You could try some sloping armour on the sides. Those two mini guns on top are a good idea I want the, in BF2 :p
