I installed windows XP on my secon hard drive (windows 98 on primary)
Everything works fine, until I try to install games. EVERY game that I install seems to run into a problem, and "Must close." What is up with that? I'm downloading the windows updates now, but I doubt that'll work. I really like XP sofar, but I'd like it much better if some1 can help me fix this installation problem....
i tried installing:

Conquest: Fronteir Wars (suddenly rebooted when 78% complete)
Real War (XP says that there's corrupt files on the CD)

I was going out to take my garbage to the curb, and there was a copy of xp on my lawn with the key code there. Obviously someone wanted to throw it out as xp sucks.

I was just thinking of how some ppl's trash is another person's treasure, isn't that how it goes? I mean I'd reather pee on Linux than actually attempt to USE it, but Bugsy loves it. Although he's always saying "my icq list doesn't work, I can't search my ME hard drive, Linux just set my house on fire" etc...LOL! I hate Micro$haft too, but I mean c'mon...

Did you try using the compatibility wizard to make the files think they're installin' on a different version of windows?

Uh, I can't import my ICQ list, not that I care, anyone I want to talk with will hit me sooner or later. I've found a search tool that will search the fat 32 drive. And my connection woes are cross platform. this is my fourth day without shutting down my pc, my mouse has traveled 2.2 km. On the brighter side, I don't particularily have to worry about nimda or any other virus do I? I can change os' 5 times a day, no worrys about keys. Oh and mandrake figured out my partitions just fine

Its a beta version. YOu can't expect things to run smoothly all the time. My suggestion: find a newer build of XP. 2600 is out now, I personally woudn't go below 2526 if I were you. I've had luck with older builds but not much luck at all with older than 2462.
