Windows Vista Service Tweak Guide

    booting up should just be slightly faster... slow boot mostly have to do with crappy drivers, so you should look them over.

    and why would hl2 load faster? if you want that to load faster you should look at using a raid-solution for your hard drives. every partition on my system is spanned over three drives, that speeds up alot!

    I have 56 processes running and it's using 610MBs of RAM on my laptop.
    Good thing I have 2 gigs!:heh:

    ok, but Tweaking WindowsXP you NOTICED the diferrence, and tweaking vista is like... not doing anything to it, and it ran worse after it and I disabled each and everyone of the services you posted up...
    maybe I just need a second GB of ram

    it ran worse?! hrm. something sounds seriously wrong with your system.

    my system run even better then my tweaked XP, even though it uses a bit more ram, but I haven't noticed anything of that in games and hungry applications.

    well, I only got 1GB RAM and it works great for me. must be your drivers...

    which forceware and creative drivers you're using? it has to be one of those 2

    i think its pretty cool he made the effort for everyone. ill resort back to this when i get vista...

    I use the 97.27 drivers (I know they give pretty crappy performance in games, but at least it works with some of the old ones I'm still playing...) for my graphics card, and I've scrapped my SB Live! card so I'm only using the on board AC97 for the moment. :)
