@criskoe You can try to trace with MS tools: But instead of simply using the slider (in item 3) you let PC idle and then stop idle and then do the items 4,5...

Hey sorry for the delay. Been real busy.. Anyways, I gave that new trace tool a try with the power slider on my Zephyrus G15 2021 and when i move the slider the tool crashes.
Try this, please https://www.mediafire.com/file/qi2pmt4cukvcy3i/PowerPlanTrace.zip/file MD5 hash for zip-file: 624454980F524160066F42C0B6208098
This is obviously beyond my understanding but Thanks for giving it a shot.. The last working one catches some changes but other things are happening in the background for sure that I cannot see or manipulate or change. Seems i am only able to change the settings for the profile when the slider is in the middle. ( better performance ) and if i move it to the left or right it changes the profile behind the scenes and does some kind of modification that im unable to control. Example. Ive tweaked the active power plan (Silent) + (Slider Middle Better performance) so that the cpu idles as low as possible. Cpu sits and rests at 1.4ghz very fast. But moving the slider to the left to better battery makes the cpu bounce all over the place and barely rest at 2.4ghz. Was hoping to be able to modify it so that they do the opposite. Oh well. This is obviously too advanced for my nubby brain. So i better just let er be. LOL. Attached some picture of the behavior. Silent Profile. Slider middle Better Performance. Cpu idle 1.4ghz Silent Profile. Slider Left Better battery. Cpu idle 2.4ghz with the changes it caught Flipped slider back n forth between Better Performance and Better Battery Two times. Logging 3 changes each time but they are all the same..
I know how to check a hash thank you. Your hash does not match the advertised hash. Please check your hash.
I think something is wrong, I believe the hash should match. I have tried to download with Windows Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Android Firefox. http://www.mediafire.com/file/wt37sbsejk7iepm/PowerSettingsExplorer.zip MD5 hash for zip-file: 943F6AB7B6B2EA3589C86E8E7A4E643A http://onlinemd5.com = 943F6AB7B6B2EA3589C86E8E7A4E643A WinMd5Sum Portable = 943f6ab7b6b2ea3589c86e8e7a4e643a RapidCRC Unicode Portable = 943f6ab7b6b2ea3589c86e8e7a4e643a https://virusscan.jotti.org/en-US/filescanjob/vjnnkcmr5k = 943f6ab7b6b2ea3589c86e8e7a4e643a https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file...56eb44ba7d666f831b3f8ec77305434aa7e7a/details Android File Manager (github.axet) = 943f6ab7b6b2ea3589c86e8e7a4e643a Good https://www.mediafire.com/file/qi2pmt4cukvcy3i/PowerPlanTrace.zip/file MD5 hash for zip-file: 624454980F524160066F42C0B6208098 http://onlinemd5.com = 624454980F524160066F42C0B6208098 RapidCRC Unicode Portable = ce7899a46e536be264a82794efcf7144 WinMd5Sum Portable = ce7899a46e536be264a82794efcf7144 https://virusscan.jotti.org/en-US/filescanjob/fv82zg8svm = ce7899a46e536be264a82794efcf7144 https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file...e17a8f23a3af2d42407770d608f6e83acc8e5/details Android File Manager (github.axet) = ce7899a46e536be264a82794efcf7144 Bad I can not test your tool without confirmation of correct hash. Thank you for your time.
http://onlinemd5.com `s implementation of MD5 hash is bugged. For some files its results are correct and the same as from other tools. For some files its results are wrong. But still if I calculate hash (on upload) on that site and then any user calculates hash on the same site and hash values equal then it means that nobody tempered with the file between upload time and calculate time. There is no other purposes for that MD5 hash, only to insure that the file is still the same as was during upload.
@criskoe Actually, another attempt https://www.mediafire.com/file/qi2pmt4cukvcy3i/PowerPlanTrace.zip/file MD5 hash for zip-fie: BFD2B8A0052FA0F5DF2E2C6BF8DFC0B2
Nice. Third times a charm. Doesn't crash. Captures the same 3 events as before but also now shows the Slider effective power mode. Now I just have to figure out how to configure the "Better Battery" effective power mode. This is what is most likely changing my tweaks. I fear that it might be too advanced for me tho messing around with those settings and that windows Configuration Designer. My brain kinda glazes over reading that windows document. lol
@criskoe 1. How to enumerate slider settings with powercfg.exe: Archive that "output.txt" and give it to me. 2. If we will not find settings for a power slider listed in file "output.txt" by the powercfg.exe, then we can try to create a trace file for slider: Install Windows Performance Toolkit - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/test/wpt/ as a part of Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/get-started/adk-install Then: Archive that "PerfPowerSliderSettings.etl" file and give it to me. As for customizing your power slider, I can create a provisioning package for you so that you can apply it to your Windows: PS Upload file(s) somewhere or send me via email (can give it to you via personal message/conversation).
Hello, thank you for great utility. Btw, have someone good powerplan optimized for gaming? Including different tresholds etc. maybe something interesting. Thank you.
Hi! KB5005565 installed today -_- and instantly I found at first 9 items of event 12 Provisioning-Diagnostics-Provider ProvXML category 'PowerSettings' failed with '0x800706D9' at CSP node 'NULL'. Provisioning succeeded. I only changed this parameter in PSE in order to get my boost clocks working in high perf plan cuz it didn't after last fresh 21h1 install Currently searching for a solution with no success so I thought to ask you @mbk1969 maybe you've got some idea?
