When device has positive IRQ number it means legacy mode for interrupts. In that legacy mode several devices can have same IRQ number - share IRQ (bad thing).
When device has negative IRQ number it means MSI mode for interrupts. In MSI mode device can`t share its IRQ with other devices.

PS Changes in MSI mode (in tool) can take effect only after reboot.

I did the changes and it's now in MSI mode. I still have the glitches while using my DAW or Foobar, and especially while alt tabbing. Nothing on Youtube/Spotify or in a game.
Would Windows 10 solve my issues?

You can try if you have time and will. Several people here blamed Win11 for glitches.

Well, it's not that I want to but I'm out of ideas, it seems to be the last alternative :(.

One thing I just noticed with WPA is that that MsMpEng.exe might be the reason why I get such a high CPU usage, hence the dropouts.

The blue/green line is my DAW while playing the guitar with a low buffer size. Even when I turn Windows Defender off, I still get the high CPU peaks for some reason.

set the system to high performance or disable c-states when using the daw.

It's already set to high performance and I still have dropouts when using Foobar. I'll take a look at what the c-states exactly do, thanks.

    I mistook it for "thunderbolt".

Why do I see two instances of Thunderbird.exe?

    @mbk1969

hi there hope you are doing well :)

i have a question, im trying to help a someone with his System and he has BSOD´s and issues.
i now checked the IRQ´s from him and there were 2 using the same IRQ, could this be the issue?

    here is some infos:

as you see IRQ 11 and 16 have multiple devices.

the kind of error he mostly get is:

so my first thought when i saw this is to check the IRQ´s if there is any issue maybe.
im not sure if this even has to do with one another but here i am hoping you can help me or send me on the right track ;)

should i try to set the GPU in MSI mode? could that help?
    what about the
    upload_2022-11-23_20-41-24.png

is that normal? should i set one of those or both in MSI mode? is that safe?

im really at a loss here atm and im not sure how to advance. i could just tell him to set it to MSI mode but i wanna know what you think first :)

    Best regards...

*edit the device that is sharing the irq with the GPU is the onboard HD audio device.
*edit2 - if u need more dumps or infos let me know, he saved all of it :)

I do not know whether you can switch SMBus and Thermal Subsystem to MSI mode, but 3 remaining devices you can - do it one by one, just in case. If succeeded then you can try SMBus and Thermal Subsystem (one by one).

PS Since ISR works completely different in legacy and in MSI modes it can help with BSODs.

And be aware that each NVIDIA drivers installation reverts videocard back to legacy mode (at least for 20xx and 10xx models).

    jup, that i know :)

it also does it with my GTX 980 series

*edit - ok, we set the one HD Audio in msi mode, the one who shared the IRQ with the GTX1080. Now we wait and see what happens :)

    hellooo!!!!!!!

can a reconfiguration in MSI mode utility help against the "AMD B550" - USB - bug?
The USB Bug is when reconnecting the keyboard and mice for several times, during processing high pcie traffic on AMD B550 chipsets-

USB bug is happening on much higher level than interrupts.
I see 3 high definition audio controllers on screenshot - one is on videocard, one is integrated and one is ??? (USB connected?)

I think they are two, bc I have several outputs at the back of the board (Asus rog strix b550-a)
the other one could be the optical device or they share the channels...
The board comes also with "bloat ware": Sonic, A-Volute ....

    --> I really don't know

Thunderbird uses Firefox's engine, which uses a multi-process architecture.

Output audio devices are not shown here. Select each of High Definition Audio Controller in MSI tool and copy each description text (from lower pane) here.
