I've set my HDAudio controllers to MSI mode then launched some audio file from disk partition. Then I ran some disk stressing tools on that partition to see would it start freezing/interrupting audio and indeed it happened. Is that normal behavior?

What happens in default IRQ values?
If your running I/O on the same HD that IMO might happen no matter.

Not entirely sure about default IRQ values, I think it happened there too but bit less often. Right now when I am browsing HDD content fast enough(switching folders) things also happen.

Don't do any USB/2 ones, USB3 are ok.
I would try first Nvidia, that should be no issue at all.
I am surprised your SATA is not in MSI by default but I am a little leery suggesting setting to MSI, if something goes wrong it's your main storage.
I would focus on the shared IRQ, to try an limit it (19, 16)

See what mbk1969 says on the SATA controller.

Then just uncheck that one, so it back to default, if it runs worse.

    Win7 or Win8?
I guess it is not Win10 because of SATA controller. By default in Win10 SATA controller runs in MSI mode. Another guess about SATA controller - you have not installed Intel`s drivers (because they run in MSI mode by default). Here you can find drivers most suitable for your motherboard
    https://www.win-raid.com/t2f23-Intel-RST-RSTe-Drivers-newest-v-WHQL-v-WHQL.html
Better not switch SATA controller into MSI mode manually. Better install appropriate driver.

USB2 controllers can`t work in MSI mode, so do not bother. All other devices you can try. But better not switch in bulk.

Just tested, it runs about same (freezes/interrupts in both modes). But is that normal behavior? I did run some long mp3 from partition and then launched ATTO for that partition while listening to music.

I really don't know on that, don't have or play mp3 on this system.
I did run SSD DiskMark while playing you-tub vid (both run off C:) and vid played fine while BM ran.
    See what others say.

Note I have played mp3 directly without caching just to stress I/O. Most players will probably cache stuff.

You probably will not believe but OS caches too.

    Hello Guys,

could you check my current settings for MSI mode?
    Are they okay like that?
    https://picload.org/view/dolworwi/msimodekillere2500possible.jpg.html

Im wondering why my NVME and USB take so much MSI Numbers (second picture)
    https://picload.org/view/dolworww/hardwaremanagermsilist.jpg.html

Does it has an influence when the MSI Number - eg. from my GTX 1060 is "-19" or is a lower value better?
How is about my Killer e2500 - worth to change it to MSI Mode?

    Thanks for your help guys.

BTW: Gaming is awesome with MSI mode -- no Stutter / Audio cracking anymore - more responsive!

    MY RIG:

    CPU: I5 8600K @4,6 GHZ (1,22V)
    RAM: 16 GB G.Skill Trizdent (3200 MhZ - CL 14)
    Motherboard: MSI Z370 - M5
    GFX: MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G
PSU: Be Quiet - 500W (Gold)
    Harddisk: Samsung 960 evo
Cooler: Water Cooled by Artic Liquid Freezer 240
    OS: WIN 10 - 1803

Hello thank you for the reply. Yes i am indeed running windows 7 x64. Thank you for linking me the forums although I am not certain which version I should use. The motherboard I am currently using is the Maximus VII Ranger (z97). Another thing which threw me off is that I looked at the utility once more today and it showed an extra device compared to yesterday.

    today's showing 13 devices:

    They are okay.

That only means that each of these two devices utilizes more then one message. Btw, are you running a server edition of Windows?

It doesn`t. It is just a sequential number(s). When OS initializes devices that IRQ number is selected from pool of free ones.

It is worth. Btw, I remember "Killer" NICs had a bad reputation in days of Win7. And many users just bought dedicated Intel NICs instead.

PS For ASMedia USB3.1 controller you can try newest drivers from ASMedia
    https://www.win-raid.com/t834f25-USB-Drivers-original-and-modded.html
Also there could be newest firmware updates.

13.1, 13.2, 14.6, 14.8 - try these. And be aware that "newest" doesn`t automatically means "better". When drivers are implemented for particular chipset/device, such drivers could be better than newer drivers which just aware of older chipset/device.

Mystery. May be you plugged some USB device and this Intel USB 3.0 controller just emerged from deep sleep?

Once again thank you for the help. I will try to look into those versions and see which ones will be the most stable. I assume it's smart to system restore before attempting this. After installing the modded driver should I only attempt to turn my Nvidia GTX 770 in to MSI or are there other ones I should do too?

You have to re-enable the MSI mode after the graphics driver update.

Not necessary modded SATA drivers. Fernando also provides bundles with original unmodded drivers.
You can switch all devices (except for USB2 ones) to MSI mode. Better one by one. (Intel`s STA drivers should work in MSI mode by default.)

Alright thank you I will keep this in mind.

That is great to hear I assume the two USB Enhanced Host Controllers are the USB 2.0 ones. Thank you again for all the help, I will attempt this process tomorrow.

@mbk1969 Thank you very much for the fast reply !

    Im running WIN 10 - 1803 - Pro Edition.
Its tweaked by a lot by me and absolutly runs fine for all games (BF4 / PUBG / Fortnite / CS GO)

Im very sensitive when its comes to inputlag / sync.

This is my graph for polling rate - its super stable and smooth. I dont want to risk to try the modded version.

    https://picload.org/view/docgpoga/mousefrequency.jpg.html

Perfect Hitreg in CS GO :) Better than on 1709.

If you mean ASMedia drivers I linked they are not modded.
