Oh yeah, now they call it "stability" issues, that's why they aren't releasing those bios updates... gtfo.

I have a feeling that I'll get the new microcodes for 2 out of 3 my machines through Windows Update before Asus will release anything, tbh.

THIS. Asus didn't even bother to release a BIOS for 3 year old boards...

rather strange they decided to cancel mitigation on the higher end gulftown/westmere/bloomfield , but not the mainstream chips

also strange that the nehalem ep is supported, very odd.

edit: well it seems they they have specifically ommited the desktop variants of the lga 1366 chips despite supporting the server variants of nehalem and westmere.

guess its a good time to pickup an x56XX cpu if you still use x58.

They need to update KB4090007 for a 1803 release. You would think it would have been included in the Cumulative Patch, but it wasn't.

Asus has been releasing bios updates for their boards with the latest microcodes ... might as well check your support pages if you're using Asus. Maximus 8 Extreme got version 3801, Hero should be soon enough.

Getting (repeatable) improved ssd benchmarks with the latest bios. Microcode is the latest as per Microsoft's kb page but it was already deployed via WU. I guess that improved system performance line wasn't all bs? :p
