    Hi...

Well When i View any Png Files, or Jpeg the explorer.exe taking huge memory around 240Mb, then after sometimes the Icons on the desktop will Blink Automatically[ Like Refreshing] when i open any folder i can see the icons on the Desktop Refreshes, May be the Thumbnail Cache becomes full or Maximum Limit, Sometimes the Thumbnail cache will get automatically cleared, No Optimizing software running or installed, explorer.exe is taking huge amount of memory when previewing files like Png or Jpeg, all i to do is get the explorer.exe to clear the Memory to default is by killing the process and enable it again....

But No such problems in XP....

Are you running a legal copy of Windows and are you using images or DVDs from Microsoft?

If not someone must have fudged with your installation media.

I don't see any problems here.

Yeah, " are you using images or DVDs from Microsoft? what does tat mean, I have a retail DVD Ultimate.... i dont knw it happens sometimes , mostly when viewing PNG files like PNG Icons or Jpeg Files , explorer.exe shoots memory around 270Mb or more, it does not clear up until i kill the process, only fix is to clear up up Thumbnail cache, Thumbnail cache will mostly around 300Mb.....

Deltatux , simply view any Png files mostly around 100 or more files the explorer.exe memory usage will be around 100Mb or more, it's ok it will take but why it's not clearing up to default allocated..... i think this cause the icons do self refreshing........

It is likely Microsoft Security Essentials scanning your icons.
I had to uninstall MSE then reinstall. While it was gone the icons stopped "refreshing".

I suspect there's some sort of memory leak there ... could be what Helpful said about MSE.

    I'm not experiencing this problem.

No Friends, im Running Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 11.0.2.556(b.c.d) , fully updated, as said it's not happening everytime, it only happens when i view Png files or Jpeg Files..... explorer.exe is not clearing up the memory after use , i think it's causing the problem......
