Windows 7 Beta Available to the Public January 9th!!

i wonder if they made it universal due to such high demand and overloading server?

just as well...my install just went crap and i threw away the CD, too lazy to rummage trash so i'm redownloading, i'll try the beta key this time since its here

word of warning...dont screw with the registry doing Vista tweaks...lol

 

word of warning, the keys issued by the broken webpages don't seem to be unique
some people have reported being able to find their win7 keys on the internet already

 

no sorry but no one is getting a UNIQUE key now. Everyone is getting only THOSE 10 keys. I CAN confirm this as I have visited 2 different forums and a lot of people are trying the same links that got them their unique keys last night but now only getting THOSE 10 keys.

ps. I don't know why I'm capitalizing certain words :nerd:

I think it's just as well that there are only 10 keys. I mean they don't need the individual data of who has a unique key. They just need all the debugging data from all the users.

I got UNIQUE key YESTERDAY. AFTER I filled my information like name etc that was on the page leading from technet page.
TODAY technet page says beta is not ready yet and there are no links on it and so people just use links that lead DIRECTLY to keys. maybe that is the reason why all keys are the same now.

 

My first key was today and it's on the list, and I didn't fill out any personal information or anything. Looking forward to trying this. Where do you get drivers and things? are there any?

 

Windows update & vista drivers. To install chipset drivers that are for vista, run them in Vista compatibility mode & administrator.

the d/l link does work that tomak posted dl now the iso here on guru has a corrupt dll can't install

oh and TDurden, I registered again with my email address and filled in the form and guess what? the key they gave me is from one of THOSE 10 keys I POSTED. lol

Jesus - it's obvious that they had keys to give out but then decided that the server hits were just too much all for people looking for keys so they changed the distribution. This isn't rocket science - enough with it already.

When I click the download link it does nothing so I reopened the download link and the result is the same but with a different key given. Bah, maybe their servers are overloaded.

go to technet, log in with your windows live ID & copy this link into teh address bar, hit enter.

use one of the 3rd party download sources, thats what i did, link a few pages back.. id get it for you but ive not slept in 2 days and its too much effort

They are not third party btw. They are the links to microsofts own servers. For some reason the MS web pages don't redirect you to the links automatically. If you notice these links are from Microsoft.com.

 

probably a dumb question since it's a beta will there be updates of some kind?
