Windows 7 and DX12

    So, exactly what is the deal here?

    Do all DX12 games now work on Windows 7? Microsoft brought DX12 over to Windows 7 but does it work properly for all games?

    No it doesn't. Because games are also OS dependent not only API dependent.

    then in windows 7 even less the possibility

    It's only certain games. I'm not sure where you could find a list.
    The only one I know of is WoW but I read here they had to temporarily disable it in the last patch due to some problems.

    It's a bit odd that they bothered to add Dx12 when Win7 is no longer being supported by MS since January this year.

    No, You can't install it as an end-user, though, because the game needs minor modifications to work with it and it's supposed to be shipped with the game. It also only works on the 64-bit version of Windows 7.

    Microsoft has stated that they are working with a few other developers to bring their DX12 games/backends to Windows 7 as well. As a consumer it’s great to see them supporting their product around ten years after it launched, but with the entire OS being put out to pasture in months, it seems like an odd time to be dedicating resources to bringing it new features.
