Umm you did look at the links right ?. http://www.3dvelocity.com/articles/win64compatibility/win64softlist.htm DISKEEPER 9 SERVER -- Works O&O Defrag V8.0 Professional Edition -- Works Spybot Search & Destroy 1.2 -- Works
Bit Tornado 0.3.7 -- Works http://www.bittornado.com/download.html Shareaza 2.1.0.0 -- Works http://shareaza.sourceforge.net/
I also use Perfect Disk for defragging and bit torrent was the only one at the time that supported x64 when it came out so thats what ive been using
Is it the 64bit version you are using ? http://www.oo-software.com/en/products/oodefrag/pro.html NEW: 64-bit version now available
Are you saing O&O's 64bit version don't work ?. Sorry but i somehow find that hard to believe (if that's the case you would think they should know by now). You need to double check and make sure you have the 64bit version of O&O Defrag V8.0 Professional

Great, maybe someone can help me out.. I'm dual-booting xp 32-bit and xp 64-bit, most of my stuff runs just fine under xp 64-bit except, it seems, most games. Installed BF2 earlier, it starts and I can hear sound but all I get is a slightly flickering black screen, same goes for Far Cry with both a clean installation _and_ the AMD64 patch applied. I wonder if it has to do with BF2 having "updated" (after installation) the probably-newer 64-bit version of directx that was installed by default, maybe overwriting some key files with 32-bit versions? Any ideas? I grabbed the latest directx off microsoft's site, and it installed ok (apparently updated some files) but that hasn't helped.. done some googling, haven't found much... annoying. So, any ideas? Anything's much appreciated Thanks!
odd, i've never had a problem running either of those games under Win XP x64 try running windows update
I just reformatted and started over which fixed the problem, better now than later when everything's set up Thanks though!
after someone asked a win64 question i came back to this to look at it and re-wrote and fixed spelling errors and to also keep questions down
I find a lot of people asking about if they should go 64-bit windows or not so I added question 11 maybe i can get this stickyed
Went through the whole thing Fixed questions 5 and 7, also question 2 is a bit more in deapth now Also I think I organized it better Just added more reviews
Its not so much if windows 64 will support DX10 as if windows xp will because its Windows XP 64-bit so it all comes down to if XP supports it and not just Vista i dont believe that to be a 32/64 bit issue
added question 12 because someone didnt research to see if everything they owned had 64-bit drivers and flipped out stating Windows x64 was a horrid OS and a complete waste
