Usind startallback (startisback) got back windows 7 start menu (but switched back to win 11 start)get used already and using old context menu and win 10 ribbon ui
I just don't have the patience... was already kind of not sure going into it but wanted to try some of the new features, I was setting up everything, drivers / programs I need.. and then the very moment I went to right click a folder and click delete and then seeing there is no delete option and then realizing you have to click again to reveal the proper right click menu.. like.. I get that you can hit delete on the keyboard.. I get it.. like I know.. but.. muscle memory is like.. right click and delete. That for me just made me format everything and start from scratch with 10, I'll wait for all the clever people to create all the applications to restore 11 back to being functional for people who use Windows a certain way.
Did you ended up using rufus or windows media tool? I've just seen your post that with rufus you have to disable secure boot.
Rufus did the trick, then going into bios and selecting the thumb drive and went from there... I had Secure Boot enabled, same with fTPM.
did the upgrade to windows 11 pro really easy and no problems on my aging system Z370, i will do a clean install in a couple of weeks once i am used to the new OS.
Be sure to check your motherboard's bios if there is a update. Gigabyte released a new one for my X470 with support for Windows 11 and AGESA ComboV2 1.2.0.4 A
I dont run insider builds for the most part unless theres a problem. Not sure I really want to have to keep updating it and the goal all along was for it to be the release thread....
Assuming the icon highlighted in the square is a delete option? seems I don't read icons and was looking for the actual word delete...
I've asked this question twice already, once in this thread and once in the insider thread, no one seems to have an answer and Microsoft hasn't given a response to it on the feedback hub either yet... It's also the one reason why I'm not upgrading either, so horrible if you're doing comparative works, really slows down workflow.
Delete is now the recycle bin button in the menu, or you can select show more options/shift + F10 and the old context menu returns. Honestly, it's one of the many stupid UI design changes in OS, not counting the one with the start menu/Taskbar that seems to be the first to catch everyone's eye.
I have done and commented on it, there's currently 8000 votes, no reply form M$ yet... And that's since the beginning beta too
