Thanks, good to know. Found it already bad enough that Teams chat and that news thing was added as forced, but at least it is still possible to nuke it, although I think those should also have been optin store apps / features instead.
Not fully though, for that I needed to do play with some DISM magic and regedit, all are completely removed from my installation. As for Settings, got Widgets greyed out now but didn't locate the entry for Chat as of yet.
I was wondering if someone could help me, what is the best power plan to use for a 12700ks ? Also does the new windows 11 settings power settings override the ones in the old control panel ? I noted that the screen and sleep settings were different in control panel than they were in settings. Is microsoft going to fix this in a later build.
Can someone explain me why my changed mouse pointer is back to def after next boot? Alternative pointer folder is not changed and is still visible in cp.
Depends on who you ask. Not sure if possible with the free version of Process Lasso or if there is another tool that can do it, which is setting the program to switch to Power Saver or Balanced when idle and to Ultra Performance when programs that need it are launched. The Power settings in Settings only work for the Balanced plan, if you choose the hidden Ultimate Performance, Performance or Power Saver it won't do anything from there.
Maybe a bit late to the party, but ... Format an USB drive to FAT32. Run "diskpart" from an elevated cmd. Navigate to your disk /partition by typing "list disk" (not the number of your USB drive), then "select disk X" (where X is the number of the disk. Compare sizes to get the correct one), then "list partition" (note number again), then "select partition X" (number from partition). Then type "active", wait for confirmation then "exit". Now copy all files by mounting the ISO and simple drag&drop all the files and folders from the ISO to your USB. If you have an ISO with an uncompressed install.wim this file will fail, if it is install.esd it will proceed without errors and you will get a fully bootable drive with secure boot compatibility. If you have an install.wim, skip the file and run this from an elevated cmd afterwards. Instead of A:\ use your ISO's drive letter, instead of B:\ use your USB drive's letter. Code: Dism /Split-Image /ImageFile:A:\sources\install.wim /SWMFile:B:\sources\install.swm /FileSize:3900 The process will take some time, be patient. It will need the amount of time to copy the size of your install.wim to the USB drive. Afterwards you get a bootable USB drive, too. I hope this helps you guys to have a reliable way with Windows integrated tools to archieve your goal. Source: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/wi...image--wim--file-to-span-across-multiple-dvds
It's all good, since writing that comment I've installed Windows 11 three times... and gone back to 10 three times. Hopefully your comment will be helpful for someone else.
KB5010386. The taskbar bugs have been fixed. Auto hiding the taskbar has been a buggy nightmare since launch.
Just discovered the windows maximize button options. Can choose different sizes of panes in areas you choose. Cool as F!
If you want more, PowerToys FancyZones gives you the ability for custom zones, can even edit the custom zone files and adjust them beyond what the GUI allows. Example with 2 zones with one for system counters at top and one for apps below.

Does anyone have W11 installed on a 1st gen Ryzen and would share his experience about performance and stability? I am on W10 still besides ASUS did roll out a BIOS patch for W11, so the only incompatible thing is my CPU (Ryzen 7 1700). Is it worth upgrading?
You can upgrade there nothing wrong that will happen, but we don't know yet about the future updates for example the 22H2 feature if you will be able to upgrade to it.
I wouldn't waste my time installing on a first gen Ryzen system..... 4 of my 5 systems still run Win10....and 3 of those systems are Win11 "compatible"....
