Decided to create this new thread since Windows 11 is release in final form. If mods think this belong to somewhere else just merge/delete. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Windows 11: A new era for the PC begins today https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2021/10/04/windows-11-a-new-era-for-the-pc-begins-today/ To download: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 Build is: 22000.194
Fails to install (PC is ready for win11, I've tried an earlier preview). Oh well, I'll do it through windows update..
Just to also say it wouldn't be showing it here if it wasn't final. https://tb.rg-adguard.net/public.php
What is the correct way to create bootable usb media for Windows 11? I just realized that rufus makes bootable usb drive that requires Secure Boot to be disabled....
For some reason it always worked for me without disabling SB. Been installing each new Feature Update for 10 clean from USB/ISO created like that with Rufus, and it worked 100% fine on top of UEFI+SB.
So I asked this in the Insider thread and there were no replies to it. Can anyone enlighten me please?
I created this one because yours was titled "Windows 11 Insider Builds" and you have since then renamed it to "Windows 11 Insider & Release Builds". Anyway, and as i've mentioned in the first post, mods are free to merge/delete it if desired.
OMG! Microsoft dare to use that .194 as Final Windows 11 !!! Bravo! Microsoft !!! Same build as .194 after update using Windows 11 ISO from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
Do I seriously have to do a clean install on my laptop? There's no way for me to do the upgrade option. When I ran the installer while in Windows it told me my CPU isn't supported. Then I downloaded and ran the 'Create Installation Media' tool and used a usb and it told that the upgrade feature isn't available for whatever reason I forgot. My laptops CPU is a i7-6700HQ which isn't supported but my laptop has TPM 2.0 and everything else. Also, before I do the custom/clean install is Windows installation going to detect whether I have a supported CPU when I do the USB boot method? I googled and all people are talking about is getting around the TPM requirement.
Ended up going back to Windows 10.. 11's entire design is too convoluted, it's like it's designed by someone who is intentionally trying to make easy things harder.
Because your CPU is not support, clean install also will not working. Following guideline I try and it is working. Bypass TPM 2.0 And Easily Install Windows 11 On Unsupported Hardware Using This Open-Source Script (fossbytes.com) Just need to follow until Step 2. No need Step 3 as Step 3 is downloading older build. After Step 2, just install the Windows 11 from ISO but make sure choose custom and not search for update.
I think it might confuse people if we mix different versions of windows 11. To avoid problems like that , I will keep the threads open, and rename your thread as insider.
