So I have just installed Windows 10, well upgraded on the system. I figured the lot of you would like to see if there are performance improvements for graphics cards going from Windows 8.1 towards Win...

Page should be back, and on Fury X. I still need to upgrade the AMD Radeon image OS, but sure,

Is there any difference on the CPU load in task manager !? I remember when Win 8.1 came out you said that the game experience was better , like smother ... is this the case with Win 10 also ?

Cool thanks. Now all the speculation can be put to the test. Thanks for all the hard work Hilbert.

There is no point in testing non DX12 games and benchmarks - all of the results are in a range of error...

Why not? Shows if there are any performance improvements within the OS itself

Yep, this has helped me decide to resist the urge to upgrade day 1. I can now happily wait for a few more driver releases to see if its worth the time and effort of upgrading or hold off entirely for some decent DX12 games. Thanks Hilbert

Do we know when Microsoft are releasing the Xbone wireless adapter? This is the only other thing that may sway me to upgrade sooner rather than later.

I'd be interested in seeing an FCAT comparison between the two OSes. I didn't notice a frame rate increase when I upgraded but I did experience a lot less microstuddering and dramatically smoother gameplay.

That would kinda imply that the other OSes are broken don't you think?

No? It's possible that WDDM 2.0 or some other change in the OS contributes to less CPU overhead, thus decreasing perceivable "jerkyness" in framerate. Doesn't mean the other OS's are broken.

Did this happen? No, probably not. Games are just as smooth for me on 10 as they are on 8.

    Thanks for your efforts.
Could you do some benchmarks with a mid-range PC. i5 + GTX 750Ti or AMD equivalent.
In high end systems I think there is not more juice to squeeze from until DX12 games arrive. But mid-low systems can benefit more.

Don't forget the new AMD 15.7.1 driver just released!

AMD Catalystâ„¢ Display Driver version 15.20.1062.1002

I suspect that AMD may show more benefit than Nvidia (particularly at this time). That is of course, unless people are using 15.7.1 on Windows 8.1, as there is also a version of it for 8.1.
