^^ lol i thought you was mad at me, must be getting paranoid in my old age.

Erm yea doing a re-installation of StartIsBack++ 1.1.6 fixes the problem and i'm sure all these types of programs will get an update to, to fix any measures MS took to disable them.

Yea, I checked the SiB forums, where he posts the Beta versions, and there were none for TH2, so I assumed it should work with 1.1.6

It is for sure. This technique has been used long time ago.

I used to be on win7 since RTM. best OS i've ever used. Until win 10. so you are simply misinformed. can't blame ya. I was like that until lousy Batman AK performance on win7 made me try win10. I went down from 6+GB ram used by batman, to 3.3 gb used.

And now with todays update, the OS became ever better.

RAM usage after boot up dropped by 400mb. from 1.2gb to 800 mb.

This is without any tweaking. in win 7, it took a lot of tweaking to get down to 800mb RAM usage. So take my advice, as a former huge win7 fan. give win10 a chance. it's a fantastic OS for gaming.

Game performance is much better. witcher 3, batman AK, gta V, pretty much every newer game runs better, with less CPU usage, less ram usage, and higher minimum FPS as a result. And every old game that worked for me in win7 works here as well.

Meh, a lot of the update doesn;t appear to relate to me.

I deleted Cortana and told the operating system to use bogus internet connections for IE and MS Edge, so all the 'stuff' in those two areas will not work.

GanjaStar:Just let you know guys, don't reply to Ali-k message(at least i do some extra job here to save some points). You will get warning point. Anyway, this memory compression is working well. Since i have insider acc, i never had any problem with it.
It will be funny if GanjaStar won't have that point and i still have it.

    Question

Why in the world don't the updates resume if there is an internet outage(which btw happens ALOT in my area)? I just spent a little over 3 hours to get 78% of that update, my internet went out, came back on started things up and it started all over again!! Omg you would think nowadays that would b something they should have. Ugh.... Sry, well I want to report also on this but I can't. Stupid AT&T. :bang:

Need to lookup Tim Cook's most recent comments. Not only has he stated that the desktop pc is dead, "...Why would anyone buy one...", but that OS X and iOS are the same operating system in different dresses. So Apple already has a "one size fits all" OS. Microsoft is just following.

You can download the iso image and make an install. I do understand this method not as convenient as a simple win update.

You can use Disk cleanup to run it as administrator mode to clean any prev win install and temporary files. I recommend to leave win install log on your disk.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about on windows 8 or windows 10. When I upgraded to 8, shortly after its initial release, I noticed how much faster it was than 7, and how well it seemed to manage memory and process after being on for a long time. And on top of that, windows 10 was even faster than 8. So from my personal experience, windows 10 is a major upgrade in performance as apposes to windows 7.

I can understand looking at 8 or 10, and not liking it because of its looks and or no start menu. But the performance doesn't lie.

My personal experience about loading time is great. I run it on HDD but even the win loading time has been reduced by 70% compare to win 8.1

Did you run it with right click and run as administrator? If you don't , it will not delete all those files.

Anyway. Is it me or you guys also experience this no page loading or pain in the a@@ to send a msg because guru server cannot handle it?

Stop the WU service, and delete the contents of
    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution

    Restart WU service

And unhide hidden files and folders, and check there are no folders here: C:\$WINDOWS.~BT

    If there are, delete them

How does it feel to use an OS with the worst gaming performance for DX10/11 games? You buy great hardware and then cripple it with an old OS.

You dont even understand the situation at all do you? Do you think we like using 8/8.1 or 10? Most of us dont. However we do it because we want the most from our hardware.

You are not getting the performance from your setup that you could be getting. The absolute ONLY reason being because you (blindly) choose to stick with W7.

Im sorry but this foolish attitude needs to stop. You need to get with the times and use other versions of Windows.
