Windows Update Assistant also got updated to provide the May update.
Upgraded my install with it since I couldn't get it via Windows Update, no issues so far.

Got the dreaded Error 0xa0000400 in the WUA ... aka "it could be anything"

Guess I'll skip this update for now.

Not attempting it yet. After destroying my OS myself once recently I don't want to attempt windows doing it for me again so soon. Damn gigabyte and their weird ass BIOS settings for RAID!.!.!

I mean when it is mandatory surely I'll accept, but as long as updates are voluntary I can wait.

Updated today with assistant, i had an issue with ethernet card (no connection, but the card was working) and it was resolved after a while and several restarts (weird), i've noticed that cpu and gpu are doing well, (better performance), but motherboard and hdd are a little bit hotter, no other problems until now, we'll see after...:)

We've already got them, Turing supports Dx12 Ultimate, their drivers are due around June/July, AMDs will probably be when they get Big Navi out, as thats when they bring support.

Hasn't shown up for me, so must have something on my rig thats stopping it (its probably Avira), but i won't be installing it yet anyway, so im not too fussed, got 18 months, so plenty of time. :p

    No issues so far...

If it's not showing up in the Windows Update control panel, just go to MS's website and download the Update Assistant.

    No issues here so far.

At least some performance issues were fixed, Windows 'Settings' is no longer lagging.

And my sound card updated just fine, as opposed to some of the first big Windows 10 updates.

Except current drivers do not correctly support sampler feedback as was meant to be, so they added a (temporary?) TIER_0_9 for them. And the last update of TIER_0_9 added even more restrictions https://microsoft.github.io/DirectX-Specs/d3d/SamplerFeedback.html
Also, the last time I checked there still was no FEATURE_LEVEL_12_2 in the preview SDK, but that's not a big issue, it's just an enum value for quick hardware feature check...

Thanks. One of my family's laptop has an old "nVidia 7300 Go" which has a really old driver, and checking that list, it's clear that it's a no-no for that laptop.
Also the Realtek Bluetooth problem and the Always On restarting issue seem pretty serious...

So far so good here, installed nvidia 450.99 driver also (wddm 2.7) and i noticed a good performance boost in general, i mean cpu, gpu, ram and hdd all doing very well, and best settings are: to set gpu scheduling to off for now, maybe in next drivers that support it it would be better, we'll see, also disabling game mode, now i just need to play some more games to be sure of all that :):D

    I'm holding off till later.

My bro on his 10700K + Z490i Aorus Ultra

Fresh image 1909 media tool creator, games played fine, 446.14 gpu drivers, monitoring programs worked fine.

Fresh image 2004 media tool creator , games stopped working, 446.14 gpu drivers, and monitoring software stopped working.

So I tried to send him the old 1909 tool but it forces you to update to the latest image.

On my 10700K+ Z490i Aorus Ultra, 1909 is running fine so yeah holding off for now.

Could be windows itself with the new Z490s? could be just fresh images and ota works fine but we'll see.

I am on this version for very long time. No issues here outside of MS installing (as always) trashy default bloatware.

My dev USB-C M.2 drive has Win2Go of even newer build. Funny thing is that while it is no longer supported, OS reminds me about fully shutting down PC before unplugging that drive and mentions that it is Win2Go. So it is still aware.
Get him link to ISO and navigate him to rufus "manual".

I am still On 1903 so this makes me way behind the 8 ball so to speak. I will be updating to 1909 very soon though since at some point 1909 will go away and then you have no choice but to update to 2004.

For your brother is doing a fresh install of Windows 10 an option because he could use the Microsoft ISO downloader and download the image of 1909 if possible.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he can just get an image of the 1909 online and use the USB tool to create the image just fine. Just saying that the Media Creation Tool 1909 forces you to update to 2004 now.

    FL12_2 is not finalized yet

skip 1909 and go straight to 2004

1909 is an almost pointless update unless you're using a threadripper

Couldnt do install-in-place (win would revert changes after last reboot), but clean install worked fine.
Drivers and tools i used with 1903/1909 seem to work as well.
only Uni Xonar drivers would cause a crash reboot and i had to boot in safe mode to install (v1.81r3 with 1823),
but works fine after regular boot.

They've put a compatibility hold on it, so won't show up, if you're going to be affected by one of the bugs.

Probably why it ain't showing for me, as i know ive got the 360 wireless adapter issue, and i do use the bluetooth, for connecting my phone. :p
