You can try removing the SLI bridge and then plugging your monitor in the "dead card" to check.
I tried that. It doesn't give any signal .. I will report when I found the problem. Next step is draining the loop..etc
Not a good sign. I'll cross my fingers for you and hope the slot the card in question is in is bad. Though that's not much consolation either. :3eyes:
the VGA is more expensive than the mobo, but in deed it isn't much af a consolation ...
Good luck there
Well - the Titan X is confirmed dead. I have no idea how it could get killed but it happened after a Windows 10 crash while playing Witcher 3. Damn.. sent it back today.
I find it hard to believe that a simple OS upgrade could've killed a card like that..maybe it was a very unlucky chain of events?
Like maybe bad chipset drivers caused by a bad upgrade made the card receive more voltage than it should or something.
Idk if you tried, but maybe switching to the 2nd bios of the card could've changed something, hard to say. Oh well at least you could RMA it and playing with a single Titan X for a few days isn't that bad.
The crash was most likely caused by the GPU failing, nothing to do with Win 10
I highly doubt that Windows 10 destroys GPUs too, but if I wouldn't have used Windows 10 and stayed with Windows 7 where Witcher 3 ran stable - who knows what would've happened - or not. Sucks..
@Pyrage: 2nd Graphics Card Bios? I wasn't aware this is even a thing..?!
This, more likely that Win 10 crashed during Witcher 3 because the card died. Like I said before **** happens and it's not the best but I've had parts arive brand new that lasted a matter of a week. My first GTX570 from MSI lasted me only 4 days before i had to RMA it.
sorry to read that ...
Aye indeed it sucks but on the flip side he does have at least another titan x to use in the mean time.
And might get a new one still
I'm still trying to find out what caused the issue. Is my PSU too weak? I overclocked the 3930K to 4.2 Ghz and the Titan X's with 110% Power Boost and +150Mhz. I've read that the 3930K when overclocked can consume more than 300W alone...O.O
My PSU is 850W - guess I need to upgrade ^_^
Could be a good idea, especially since I think your PSU already ran for a few years.
850W should be fine (as long as its a decent quality brand), I have seen reviewers even use 750W
It's a Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro, 3 years old or so..
Since you also use 850W it seems ok. ^^
I assume you overclocked your Titan X's too ?
Yeah, those PSUs are quite good, you should be ok with it. If your TXs are not overclocked to oblivion, that is
yes they are overclocked +200 on the gpu, +500 on the vram
OK thanks for the info!
Did you try to reset your vga bios?
Also did you try to check if the current bios on that card that you presumed to be bad, corrupted?
Also thats a 4 rail design.
+12V1 (A) 30
+12V2 (A) 30
+12V3 (A) 45
+12V4 (A) 45
Just for kicks, Ever did Like +12V1 and +12V3 to the first gpu and the second gpu: +12V2 and +12V4??
Despite that, You should be ok.
The card that went bad on you, the same pci-e connectors that were on their before, did you try it with the second gpu? Same exact connectors?
