Ran three benches with it on and off to see if there is much of a difference.

Result - game mode seems to be less reliable for this one game.

You can put images here instead of just a link.

Maybe Microsoft are just faking and providing a mode that actually doesn't do anything, just to gain attention as a company who really cares about gaming and games.

Because it's an old image I can't exactly edit the "bad" words... so.. spoiler tag.

After looking in a few reviews, it seems game mode is only viable to use if games you play stresses your cpu to the max. Other than that, people with high end system can ignore it.

All in all that mode just turns off, slows down some background processes from running while you play games, thus saving some cpu, ram and hdd usage.

Some say, that it also helps to save battery life if you play games on laptop battery.

It will be interesting to see how it affects games that use only one or two cores.

Giving other processes lower priority might actually cause more problems then improve any real in game fps..
For example recording applications might work slower, as a theoretical example.
Sounds more like a gimmick then anything else.
Unless system has so many useless running background processes or bloatware , then maybe this hand holding might improve some things or at least make them suck less :)
For normal high powered clean systems probably irrelevant.

Ive just installed it on one of my my HTPCs and nothing much has changed, ive just had to go through turning off all the stuff id already turned off previously.
The AV is a little naughty as when you turn off the telemetry it says you are not protected.

I have seen quite a few people saying this will benefit Windows Store games 1st. Horizon 3 supposedly sees a big benefit for some. Can't confirm.

I did not notice the difference between just the mode and the game mode in Windows 10, most of the time I play 502-werewolf-wild online slot games, and the game mode has no influence on online games :infinity:

I don't have an option to turn on game mode, in fact there is now game mode on my system? How do I get it?

You need to upgrade to Windows Best Edition™

    You need Windows Creators Update

I doubt anyone on here will see a difference when we all know third party game boosting software and manually tweaking the OS provides no benefit to gaming performance, and more than likely causing stability issues.

I like the idea of games being developed with game mode in mind though.
