Windows 10 dxwebstup

    is Dxwebsetup.exe necessary in order for older games to work in windows 10 (32 or 64bit) correctly? or should we avoid it?:O

    I had to install it on mine for some games to boot up. Kept crashing on startup until i installed it.

    Somehow they never include the full DirectX on windows

    It's safe guys, even the standalone DirectX installer from years ago still works fine in Windows 10...

    yes the dxwesetup and standalone installer work the same as it has done on xp/vista/7/8.1 and now 10

    its silly thats its still needed and there is no reason microsoft cant include it from setup especially since dx quarterly updates stopped a long time ago

    D3DX helpers and old shader compilers dlls are still - sadly - not included in the OS...

    they should at lest include it in windows update.


    they used to back in the day.
