its just another enablement update, no reason to use an iso to install it unless your 20hx install is really janked.

I've been running 19043 for about a month now by upgrading via kb5000736 patch.
FWIW I see zero difference with 19042.

Seems like they are staging the update.
    I haven't received it yet.

Does anyone else always get corrupted Windows files when running sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt window post-update? Sure enough, when I updated to 21H1 a couple of weeks ago I had the same issue.

Windows always seems to repair it, sometimes it requires a second run or running dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth but it is annoying. The corruption always seems to be with a shortcut or something similar and never anything important. This issue has persisted with me across several Windows 10 updates.

Dont know I dont run SFC /Scannow

Unless I have reason too which generally when a CU update failes to start windows correctly. I do know i can force an issue if I rename a app folder within the SystemApps folder. which will just recreate that folder.

Another insider cumulative update. Should apply for the entire 2020 lineup of Windows 10 but some good bug fixes in there for the next monthly patch Tuesday. :)

I think they improved the I/O on NVMe drives. With a RAID setup of 2 NVMe drives (4 TB total), REFS, 4K block size, and Xpress8K compression, I could get up to ~9000 IOP in 20H2. With 21H1, I'm getting ~15000 IOP.

Yeah, the only reason I run after every major Windows update is because I saw a thread in which a lot of people were talking about finding post-Windows update errors after using sfc /scannow so I was curious. Sure, enough I had the same thing and while it can be fixed it always comes back after a major update. Checking the log always reveals it to be something trivial such as a shortcut or something like it. It's more of an annoyance than anything else and clearly some sort of buy that Microsoft have never bothered fixing (no surprises there, right?).

Just had my first 0xe0000100 error today while Windows was trying to install, what I assume is, next week's cumulative update. My PC hung on restarting, the first time this has ever happened during a Windows update, and I had to press reset on the case. Windows then proceeded to boot normally but reported the update had failed and would be rolled back, which it did. Of course, I ran sfc/ scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth and both reports no errors.

    *UPDATE*
Retried the cumulative update for 21H1 but it failed again causing Windows to appear to hang between the BIOS logo screen and the Windows login screen. Resetting my PC causes the update to roll back. Looks like something is up with this update or this is some kind of conflict with my setup. I've decided to delay the update - unfortunately, you can only delay it for 7 days - but I suspect the same thing will keep happening. I've also opted out of the Windows Insider programme as the release updates are buggy enough so it really doesn't make much sense to keep beta testing them early.

VTD? Not sure what this is but I do not believe it is enabled. As I said, all previous Windows updates have installed without issue but for some reason this one won't even though there is nothing wrong with the install according to sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth. I even made a USB copy of the Windows 10 21H1 and ran the dism command to check the files to the memory stick. This update, for whatever reason, will not install on my PC.

This might be a very roundabout way of doing it, but try upgrading to the same version of Windows 10, so 20H2... then upgrading to 21H1.

It is a bios setting, normally off by default (at least on Intel systems).

It installed without issue for me.. I'm still not sure what is supposed to be different with 21H1 other than the Edge icon disappearing from the App history tab of the taskbar.

Installed this morning, maybe a coincidence but No Man's Sky just crashed twice today after being stable for the 100+ hours I've played in the last couple of weeks, will do a clean install of the latest WHQL AMD drivers in case Windows messed something up there.
