General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC
    • We fixed an issue preventing certain VMs from being able to install or update Windows Insider Preview builds – the VM would hang on the black screen with the Windows logo.
    • We fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders experiencing unexpected BitLocker prompts to encrypt certain drives, and then subsequently failing to encrypt.
    Known issues
    • Microsoft Store app updates do not automatically install on 18356+. As a workaround, you can manually check for, and install updates via the Microsoft Store app. Open Select “…” > “Downloads and updates” > “Get updates”.
    • Launching games that use anti-cheat software may trigger a bugcheck (GSOD).
    • Creative X-Fi sound cards are not functioning properly. We are partnering with Creative to resolve this issue.
    • Some Realtek SD card readers are not functioning properly. We are investigating the issue.

One can only hope that they won't release it with these four issues still being there.

I installed this in vmware and my first impressions are that it is alright so far. I wish they worked on the dark theme, it's the same old incomplete thing from 1809 but with command prompt getting a black scroll bar. Yay I guess.

Kinda wish this was delayed a bit so they could ship the new version of edge as well. Feels weird to use UWP edge knowing that it is on deathrow lol. Start didn't fail so that's good. I haven't tried their new sandbox feature in this build, can't enable the feature. I usually install vmware player anyway so I'm not too bothered.

I'll install the final 1903 build in a bootable vhd so I can install my drivers too and see how it fares. I'm not expecting any weird behaviour from this release for the time being. I hope that gaming issue is resolved soon.

So have they formally given more details about their gaming tech?

VMware? :D I had that experience in 3 older builds. I immediately discarded the VHD's after I saw that behaviour :D This one was a surprisingly pleasant experience.

The only irritant I have in 1809 is that folder size bug. I hope they fix that, I don't really have any need to upgrade otherwise.
