Windows 10 1903 removed the AMD CPU penalty...plus being combined with the latest AMD GPU driver gives some huge uplifts in benchmarking.

Now my results are also using a new tool by Eliovp that allows me to change the HBM timings on the fly. This with everything else greatly improves all performance.

Firestrike since it is considered a gold standard PowerColor Red Devil Vega 64 with the stock PowerColor cooler Ghaphics of 29093...but that is not all. Both the Physics and Combine get a huge uplift in total performance. I can only attribute this to both the last 2 AMD GPU drivers with Windows 10 1903 scheduler changes.

/edit I had the driver early so it was not approved just yet when I was working on tweaking things. When you check my link score it is approved and validated with no issue.

So to me this tells a big story in the making with Navi just around the corner.

@Hilbert Hagedoorn I hope this is okay.

I was sort of aware...as I have been told...but that was not really my purpose...just showing what things are possible. Mainly though I was amazed with the uplift in how windows 10 1903 handles the physics and combined even though I was actually testing the timing tool and working on that. I had a fatal mishap on Friday...which required a clean install. So I grabbed the the 1903 ISO and installed it since I had to start over. I am just amazed this has not been mentioned in the last few months about 1903.

Is this Windows update going to delete my downloads folder, start menu, and disable pinning things like the control panel again? I still can't pin the control panel.

Seriously you do not think the AMD CPU penalty being removed is not not news?

While I do not have exact numbers. Sorry about that that is not my forte. But it appears that high FPS, average and minimum FPS get about 4-5 more FPS then before.

Would be nice if you showed before and after numbers for comparison.

One number alone does not mean much.

Of course any performance uplift is good news. I'd just like some specifics on it. What exactly is this "penalty", and how is it being improved or fixed?

My post meant: "Are there any known bugs I should look out for?"

On 1903 here and don't have any of those problems, and even have Control Panel pinned to the Taskbar.

I'd love to see some actual game benchmarks before updating my system.

The performance penalization caused to AMD systems by the fix of Intel's vulnerabilities (Meltdown, Spectre and whatnot; new ones keep popping up every other day).

    Or he meant.:
DirectX 11 mode AMD's driver eats a substantial chunk of CPU resources and leaving the rest for the game itself. On the other hand, Nvidia's drivers eat this chunk less than AMD's drivers. Leaving more room for the game at hand. So basically it's a software issue.

AMD drivers are single-thread meaning the brunt of the driver goes to single core/thread has and Nvidia drivers are multi-thread meaning workload can be distributed.

But I could be wrong :)
