I would like to know what really differs them. Do I practically get SE when going to windows update? It seems to me all which is downloaded is security fixes. Weren´t there other things as well which SE fixed? Like usb-issues, do I still have them?

what the f?@* anyway I had 98 first then I bought a Digital Camcorder which needed firewire to work, i got a firewire card but it wasnt supported properly by 98 so after speaking with Microsoft who coulnd't help me do crap I had to upgrade to SE which worked fine. So theres one thing that SE supports and 98 doesn't

Windows 98SE has better support for AGP, Firewire and USB.
Windows 98 should have been called Windwos 95 (Complete). It was pratically just Windows 95 with ALL the bugs removed.
Yeah all the bugs for 95 were eliminated, unfortunately a whole bunch of new bugs were introduced Hence why SE came out.
