    This is very interesting and I wonder what kind of latency improvements we should expect coming from 1903/1909. Apparently AMD supports it on 27.20.1000.8009.

    Edit:
    I'm reading that the hardware scheduler is an AMD patent. Who knew?

    Edit:

    This option is in 2004 once drivers are released for it.

    Oh, I see, if it was there it's probably gone.
    Look here:
    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/home.aspx
    I'm not sure what name they gave it though. Nothing came up by number.

    There are no wddm 2.7 drivers available from AMD or on the insider catalog at this time.

    In this thread : https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/f9x1tp/windows_display_driver_model_27_features/
    This guy says that we can force it this way:
    To force enable go to regedit and go to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ GraphicsDrivers
    Then Right-click to create a DWORD 32-bit name: HwSchMode
    The meaning of the values is:
    1 = disabled
    2 = enabled

    Does he mean force gpu scheduling in older drivers if you have 2004 windows version?

    Well that explains it then.

    I'm not sure one should do that without the drivers first?

    I tried them with the 2004 version and they work fine But:
    No hardware scheduling switch in windows 10 graphics settings.
    Only amd software from 19.12.1 and before works.
    Amd settings lite also works with the right driver but its very limited.

    Edit:
    Tried all the reg fixes suggested in reddit but still cant make the gpu scheduling switch to appear on settings.

    TLTR: you will not get any magic performance improvements at all. Most of the last weeks modifications of the wiki page are bullcrap.

    Just because wikipedia states magic performance improvements with ALL APIs (which is actually just the possibility to commit heap/resources without make them automatically resident in D3D12.. and I guess some DXGK callback too) it is not a good reason to install unstable OS builds and drivers. The funniest part is they just mention a WDDM 2.0 basic reference for their claim...

    Ye, one needs to be careful with wikipedia. People posted that over in the Nvidia thread too, and it still doesn't have sources for the claims.

    It's as if a layman has read Microsoft's DirectX developer blog and made a quick modification on Wikipedia. There's nothing public either about the GPU scheduling that's being part of WDDM 2.7 though AFAIK.

    it cannot magically increase fps, but it can improve min fps cases caused by the way the pc talks to the gpu.

    D3D12_HEAP_FLAG_CREATE_NOT_ZEROED and D3D12_HEAP_FLAG_CREATE_NOT_RESIDENT are welcomed...But as you know it doesn't work automatically on already compiled software. Other WDDM and DXGK changes documented anywhere? MS Docs lacks in any in-depth documentation about WDDM and DXGK...

    As for "hwschmode" any real valid reference about it?

    Make HwSchMode.reg file and copy/paste:
    Open it with Notepad....

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers]
    "HwSchMode"=dword:00000002

    How do you obtain Radeon Settings when using that driver?

    Thank you for sharing it!
