Just hold onto your 2080 ti, sell it later when all the desperados have sold their gpus at way too cheap prices. And use common auction sites instead of enthusiast sites, will usually get you a higher price :)

I think I can game pretty OK with dGPU- i5 10600K
May not get 165hz but could manage 1440p via DisplayPort on my Gigabyte Aorus Ultra

A 3080 please!... Speedy, HDMI 2.1 and other stuff the leather jacket man said.

Well actually, hopefully future 3080 Ti or something with 12gb vram or more. As the 3090 is silly expensive being more than 2x 3080s. I would also like HDMI 2.1 for 4k @ 120hz HDR.

Although, not sure about the 3070 being that much faster than a rtx 2080 ti especially at 4k+ as I regularly go over 8gb vram & its generally just speedier than most. My so slow RTX 2080 Ti happiy cruises along at 2100mhz stable with the 130% power limit and it was 20-30fps faster than the one nvidia used to showcase the 3080 in the recent Doom Eternal comparison.

*just to explain myself* :D I visited the Boss from 'Mission 4 Doom Hunter Base' just like they did at the beginning of that video.. ran the exact same section @ 4k maxed out (Ultra Nightmare graphics) settings, and 120 FOV, and mine didn't quite go under 100 fps. Unlike the one they used getting in the 70s using some old drivers and running some stock slow as can get 2080 ti. Worth also noting it wasn't max settings as they had HDR off which added another 500+mb of vram at 4k also looked like 90 fov.

I guess nvidia expect you to use dynamic mode to keep FPS and VRAM in check and use the Geforce Experience software to 'optimise games' in order for games not to breach stuff like vram being an issue, especially for 8k gaming with RTX, HDR etc.

So, a 3080 Ti I would like. Covid and my magic TV with all 75" 4K HDR 'gaming mode' glory while couch gaming.. It connects to the TV at 4k, HDR, RGB,10-bit & full dynamic range (3+1 lanes of 8.1 gbps of bandwidth supplying over the 24gbps needed from a magical fat displayport 1.4 to HDMI 2.0b+ rated for over 25gbps (and after testing lots of cables) nvidia control panel and the picture quality is dreamy.

Well at least wait for reviews. I hate seeing people throw away their money for little return, like those who paid the huge premium on the 2080ti for raytracing features that are non-existant in most games and often too heavy to use.

I'm definitely going to upgrade this time around, since my Vega 64 is a bit quirky (did NOT win the chip lottery on this one). Though I'll prefer a Radeon, but that 3080 really looks tempting, both price- and performance-wise! It really depends now on how "Big Navi" will turn out when it's finally available...

Yep 2080Ti prices have plummeted here, it's a complete disaster. But nothing is booked up :) There are no pre-orders for 3000-series, check tweets from the Inet for example, you'll have to be ready to make your purchase on the release date.

I think it's better to sell now. I personally wanted to wait until release in case I'd miss the chance to buy a card but benchmarks might not be in our favor. I have a GTX 760 that I'll use in the mean time, not great but it runs indie games :D

I really want a 3090, but I don't think I can afford it. And while waiting for a potential 3080Ti/Super would be the most sensible choice, I most likely won't be able to resist and go for a 3080...

I want to see what RDNA2 does and if it causes another "Super" event from Nvidia. Then I will measure the price to performance vs reliability and then make a decision.

No. We were told that the RTX 3060 would beat or at least go head-to-head with the 2080ti, that is not happening. It will have to take DLSS 2.0 or better to receive 8K, not raw computational numbers to render the resolution.

An all featured Ray-Tracing game would brings these Ampere cards to its knees not including the new Epic's engine 5.0.

I'm super glad that I sold both of my 2080Ti's before this degradation in price happened. $2475 is not bad when you consider what people are trying to struggle to get $600 for their 2080Ti now.

I'm definitely waiting for AMD. I really believe that AMD has a monster to destroy NVIDIA. If not in total speed, definitely in power consumption, price and features.

    LET'S GO!

Feels like "Ti" would be the answer to RDNA2, not Super, especially considering the recent leaks.

I will likely go for a 3080, but after a few months. Will prioritize CPU/ mobo and looking at Zen 3 release.

Might Hold off and see what the refresh might bring along, but again, really looking at the 3090, but I might wait for the refresh versions.

I like both, owned both for many many years, going way back before 3dfx got bought out.

Owned alot from both Ati and Nvidia, Both came very long ways that's for sure.

Defin't remember the 9800xt from ati, sucker was a beast for its time, Remember the chimp Tech demo??? Ruby Tech Demo's???

The fx5950 was a very good card but in dx titles, 9800xt was better.

Lol, still got the Evga original working box for the Gtx 260(Core 216).

Been around since the Apple II'e age, owned basically every game console known to man, practically seen it all.

That dude in the video on the last post, needs to calm down a bit, I understand its edited, lol, Thanks for sharing.

For I am dork man. I will sit out front of Best Buy the 17th and wait for the doors to open. Hopefully when I walk in they don't say "we have none in stock" cause then I will shed a tear and run to the next Best Buy or Microcenter. Dork man will try and get his 3080 but since I am garbage, I am not sure if my energy field will allow the local Best Buys to have stock on that day.

Dork man is hoping. Dork man...is hopeful.

If Nvidia or AMD for that matter don't release a gpu faster than the 3090 within 2 months from Sept 24 then I'll pick up the 3090. Still remember the release of the 2080ti so soon after the 2080 & a bit skittish so I'm going for the 2 month wait.
