Same issue here on a single monitor
    Radeon 7970
    Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
    AMD omega drivers.
Issue has been there ever since I got this card in 2011.

Lol this has only been once or twice, and it has only been with unstable memory overclocks

something to keep in mind or check out...

AMD has many different versions of mouse pointer bugs to this date. For example hover your mouse over text and other contents quickly, and you will see it becomes corrupt momentarily.

I've never had anything of this, not on my 4250, 6850 or now.

    It's random when it happens

I'm using Windows 7 and get it all the time so it's not a windows 8 issue.

My memory is not overclocked and games work perfectly fine with the exception of my mouse cursor becoming unusable. It usually happens when I'm just doing stuff on the desktop and I can never reproduce it on demand it is seemingly completely random.

srsly no i wont. I mean AMD should be greatful that their customes report issues so that they can fix these issues. But it's not fun to be AMDs "quality control" and im not getting paid for it. AMD just doesn't seem to care as long as you don't make their issues public.

I would call myself smth like an AMD-Fanboy but really, it's annoying. There are tons of this small bugs you got to live with when you're on AMD. Things like that just don't happen on NV. I mean the drivers got way better over the past years, but still there are this small annoying things which will bug you from time to time.
Latest example of small but annoying is that AA Glitch in GTA V.

Still my next GPU will be AMD again. It's just that you have to be very tolerant about small issues, when you go for the red team.

OK, but the last time I reported a driver bug to AMD_Roy, he sent me a 295X2 to say thanks
    http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=393794

    Totally up to you ;)

There's some good guys at AMD, they are much more customer orientated than NVIDIA, who seem to just ignore everything reported, even quoted directly in posts on this forum, and still ignored

Try reporting to him the VSR "confusion" mess and lies about required "hardware" needed to have VSR....

.... solved by modded drivers and reg codes in NON supported GPUs maybe he will send you a new 395x2. :)

    I hope so.

    And the fix of course.

No need to report the inexistent crossfire support for Freesync: he knows it very well as he posted.

Bugs are one thing, 'confusion' and accusations likely won't cut it ;)

"Confusion" is an AMDMatt word (sic) and lies are proved by facts.

Simply read the threads about how to add VSR for non supported GPUs in this forum. ;)

I've read some of it, I doubt very much reporting that same stuff to Roy will result in them sending you free hardware

Helping AMD vs calling them out

    You didn't get it.

    Not me, YOU.

You said you received a gift for your report, i hope you get another one and solve this "confusion".

I'm not reporting Roy or anybody at AMD what they know very well: VSR will work for more cards even the cards they said it's IMPOSSIBLE to support due to the lack of a "needed hardware" scaler.

This is my help for AMD, the best i can do:

Don't lie to your customers, it's not good for your market share.

Your hardware is fantastic but useless if it has no proper software to use it.

Support it with good DRIVERS and you will have loyal customers and gain more money in the future. :)

Why would they give me another GPU for reporting something that causes them problems?

Like I said, HELPING AMD vs CALLING THEM OUT

AMD reward for help, not for causing them problems

You must be right in this case the way to help AMD in the VSR matter is to bury it and stay shut. :)

To add support for NON officially supported GPUs by a couple of reg values or modified drivers seems to be a BIG PROBLEM for AMD.

The complete silence about this must be the solution.

Can i ask them now my free gift? :D (trying to be ironic...)
