    in Europe we can't even buy a card , the ones you can find cost an arm , a leg and while you're at it , you entire body ...
    pricing : rtx 3060 = 830 dollar when i calculate to dollars , the cheapest i could find
    rtx 3070 = 1150 dollar same thing
    rtx 3080 = 1540 dollar ''
    rtx 3080ti = +-2000 dollar
    rtx 3090 = 2300 - 2500++++
    wanted to buy a 3090 to be safe for a couple years , yeah right , it's just not possible
    staying with my 2080ti , which is in the back of the race , but it still gets to the finish line without a problem ,
    they can keep their expensive nonsense this year

    I believe published US prices dont include vat so you need to remove 20% from each figure.

    You had a headsup how it will perform from 3090 reviews.
    There is no surprise.

    ps its 18% more cores than the 3080.

    So slow... NO.

    Insanely overpriced, YES.

    In february 15 I bought one MSI RTX 3090 Gaming X Trio for 1800 euro (official price is 1650), I thinked I was scammed, but now I'm very pleased with my buy.

    That's a bargain nowadays :)

    It has arrived and I can confirm, it's not slow!

    It boosts to ~1900mhz out of the box and due to power limit, you can't really do anything to improve that greatly.

    It runs Far Cry 5 benchmark on Ultra 5120x1440 100fps min 117fps av.

    That blows my 2080S away, ~twice as quick.

    It seems like they've sorted out the problems when using HDR, Gysc + 240hz. And the multi-monitor support works properly unlike my 2080S which was always a bit funky.

    OK so have had a few days to play with the card. I found that I could undervolt the card a lot.

    On my card I was able to reach a pretty consistent 1950mhz @ 875mv. 1950mz would use 1000mv by default!

    The result was that the card ran a bit cooler/quieter and power use went down from >350w to 335W.

    I think I am now at the limits. I could go a bit higher on core but the extra voltage means it wouldn't stay there consistently and it doesn't seem very stable either. It seems like the card has a sweet spot around 875mv.

    I read a report a while back that 3080 cards when undervolted also reduced performance, yet it wasnt reported as a speed drop.
    I remember replying that my 3600 CPU exhibits the same behaviour unless using certain tools to monitor speed.
    Whether its true for the 3080ti (or even the 3080/3090) I dont know, more information wasnt forthcoming.

    It will depend how you measure performance. I've been using FarCry5 and RDR2 benchmarks to test.

    When undervolting, it tends to reduce max fps because the card doesn't clock as high in some situations. That can result in very slightly lower av. fps. But I've found that I can actually improve min fps. I think that's because the core speed remains constant instead of taking the occasional dip due to the power limiter.

    You did your math wrong, it's not 118% more.

    3080 = 8704 Cuda Cores
    3080Ti = 10240 Cuda Cores

    That's a percentage increase of 17.65%, someone forgot their algebra.
