So i just got my xFx 780i in the mail today, it's sooooo sexy, I'll post pics up tomorrow, since I can't install it today cause I have to wait for the Artic thermal paste to come in. I mean what do they expect you to do, not use thermal paste ._> They come on different days because I ordered the paste about 6-12 hours after I ordered mobo :(

Thermal paste should never touch the mobo so I can't see why it should come with it. Thermal paste always comes with the cooler.

Thermal paste comes with the cooler usually.

It would be better if thermal paste would come with boxed CPU's. As for AMD most if not all boxed CPU's have thermal paste already on the coolers.
I don't know if it's good paste, since i remove it anyway and apply some AS5 instead.

Supplying thermal paste with the mainboard makes no sense. :)

Yea they shouldnt even pre-apply it to the stock cooler, incase you wanna slap something better on the cooler. Because some times they put too much on the stock coolers.

But yea if they supply it with the mobo any thing can happen, the packet could bust. And you in up with a mobo with cpu paste all over it.

They should just package AS5 or MX-2/3 with everything tbh

Yup, in retail packages its uncommon to find no thermal paste (even if its some farce they call thermal paste pre-applied to the base).

Makes sense packing thermal paste in retail CPU's.

I finally got it installed, with many problems, my CPU cooler screws broke, so I have to keep it laid down to use my PC now, however I did get to O/C my q9450 to 4Ghz...

It seems you have done something terrible. Is your mobo intact?

It actually stayed 7*C cooler when I had it laid down, a few hours after that MSG, the motherboard broke... Just stoped working, luckily, newegg is paying for shipping and replacement! ( I was only overclocking to 4Ghz to just post windows, then I put it back to defaults )

    GOGOGOGOGO NEWEGG FTW

I have to ask, how on earth did you manage to break the cpu cooler screw? Something must have gone horribly wrong.

They are these plastic white ones that fit in, then you place this black coat over to screw over it. The black part on 2 of them are kinda messed up, and don't hold the other half of it. They aren't regular screws...
