My PC is running quite a bit faster now, as far as system startup, file transfers, and transitions between open programs, as compared to Vista. I've never had any problems with Vista, but this performance boost is sure worth the $29.99 I paid for the Digital River student edition of Home Premium x64. I even found these instructions: http://windows7forums.com/windows-7-installation-upgrade/23049-uk-student-download-version.html to make my "Upgrade Version" into a Full Retail installation media ISO. Worked like a champ! Didn't have to mess with upgrading Vista at all, just followed all the instructions, then did a fresh install of Windows 7 using the bootable DVD I created. Full Windows 7 for $30. Can't beat it!
