i5 760 is a nice chip, you dont need hyper threading as most turn it of when OC and also most games dont work with it(in performance) so you can save some cash there from not going i7. I got a 465 and seriously considering an rma due to serious heat etc, From what ive read the 460 is a good card, especially the msi hawk, that things insane! personally though I would go for a single 470 and wait untill performance demands a second card.

I am not sure which I am going with a I5 or I7...I will decide when the time is right and see which offer the best performance for the least amount of cash. I don't over clock and I am not a hard core gamer. I do more audio editing,recording..etc then anything else. I am doing a great deal of research right now as to which way to go in this regard...we shall see.

Unless you're dead set on going with SLI, I'd recommend looking at an AMD board....

No AMD this time around. I am using either a I5 or a I7.
SLI is nice to have as an option...

in that case I would defo go with the i5 760, I do not know of any game that runs slowly with it and pretty sure that no audio software that takes advantage of hyperthreading so i5 is probably your best bet, on another note why not wait a little for sandy bridge since you dont OC? those chips are apparently seriously fast at stock :)

6years ago? -man I have been around here for along time!
Maybe you need a new one?
I think it's going to be either a GTX 260 (216) SLI or GTX 460 to start and then a GTX 460 array. I like the look of te 460 hawk...IIRC.
