Which torrent client you are using on vista?I tried bitcomet 0.84 but it randomly crashes on me.Any idea why?
but for some reason i got really slow D/U speed on utorrent also having nasty NAT problem on utorrent.
Well open up your ports. Through your firewall and you router. I love utorrent, its extremely fast when you got everything set up right, its extremely light on resources, and it works great in vista
care to explain slowly how to port forward on vista and a netgear wgt624 v3 tried and failed miserably dave :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
On Control Panel, put classic mode on and open Windows Firewall. Open the ports there. Then login to your router (Will be something like htpp://192.168.0.1) and open your ports there too.
utorrent FTW! Works very good here, just spend some time on setting everything up and it should be fine
http://portforward.com/ Evenything you need to know including how to set up your router is there . With windows firewall its just a case of clicking on windows security. Editing your firewall settings to add utorrent to the list of 'exceptions', and the port uTorrent uses (you can find that out by clicking on options, then speed guide). utorrent will only be at full speed when the test firewall brings up a webpage saying you are good to go
In XP i use Upnp to open and close my ports with Utorrent, but it doesnt work in Vista even though ive turned on Network Discovery, also while im here, does anyone else's connection take like 5mins to setup after restarting vista, it starts and ive always got the network disconnected sign near my clock then it slowly changes to limited connection then eventually i get the world symbol and its ready. any help? cheers
Utorrent is flawless on mine and it is light. Azureus gets good speed but what is it they say? "too much junk in the trunk"?
