Hi guys, i want to buy a new graphics card. The gtx 480 is better or the radeon hd 6950 is better? Few weeks ago i chose to buy a gtx 480 but some people says that the intake fan on the gtx 480 is pretty loud and annoying, so i done some '' homework'' on the internet and found out that the Ati radeon hd 6950 is almost the same price as the gtx 480 ( slightly cheaper) and quiter. So do i need to choose the Gtx 480 or the radeon hd 6950.( heard the gtx 480 is faster than the hd 6900 series.)
( sorry for my bad English, I am not an american, hope u understand what i mean)

Id stay away of the 480 or any 4xx at this point. I would aim for a 560Ti or a 570.

Yep, GTX570 is exacly what the 480 should have been.

The equivalent of a GTX480 or GTX570 would be more like a 6970...

The equivalent of a 6950 is more like a GTX560TI overclocked...

MSI 6950 2GB power edition can be easily overclocked to ~6970 performance for less cash than a 570

Similarly, a 570 can easily be OC'd to 580 performance.

Yeah the 6950 sits between the 560Ti and GTX 570, dependant on the game and resolution used.

In some 1920x1080 benchtests there is only about 3 fps between the 6950 & GTX 570.

You can CF the 6950. Plus it has 2GB vram which is good for CF/SLI setup.

Btw, at high resolutions the 6950 is faster than the GTX 570

EDIT: Lol omg I just noticed you have an AcBel same as me.
You are the only other person I've seen on this forum with an AcBel PSU, and I've been here 4 years..:)

    What country you in?

570 can run 3 way SLI.

dont bother with 4 way SLI. for the most part, there is very little performance to gain.

btw... you arent still using a core i3 are you? if you are... you probably wouldnt notice any benefit from running SLI over single card...
