xfx 850w xxx edition silver (seasonic) corsair hx850 gold ( cwt ) seasonic x-850w gold ( seasonic ) which one is best for temp and fix coil whine problem
Best for temp? What does that mean? I haven't heard of CWT units having a problem with coil whine but I could be wrong. Why do you need a 850W unit? In your sig you only have one GTX 670. For two, you need 650-750W.
Do you have a coil whine problem on your mobo or gpu? or is it in your old psu? I went with a seasonic x-850 and it created coil wine on my 570.
Like I said, people on 220V-240V seem to have more problems with them, but it could be just 'coincidence'.
Yes, and? Nothing indicates that that's anything but a faulty unit, and it doesn't even sound like coil whine to me. The Gold units are more efficient than the XFX silver unit which means they put out less waste heat. The Seasonic X series unit is fanless at low loads, although I think the newest revision allows you to switch between fanless and active modes. If used in fanless mode, it add heat inside the case slightly (installed on the bottom of the case) or not remove it as efficiently (installed on the top of the case).
Yep, new revisions have a switch. I have my fan spinning though. And that doesn't sound like coil whine to me either. Op, all of those units will be very quiet and shouldn't whine. Why are you even expecting a brand new psu to whine.
^^Coil whine is rather common and it doesn't really matter if the unit is new or old. My CWT unit whines, quite a bit. This is how mine sounds in 3DMark11 (one card): http://www.mediafire.com/download/qi711sh86bplmhx/vingunta.flac I have normalised the volume, used Galaxy S to record it. And yeah, no idea why he needs 850W PSU.
