    Hey guys...
    I bought a Connect3D X800 256mb GDDR3 PCI-Express...

and as you know the X800GTO has been released and the X1600 will soon follow...

should i sell it and get one of those?

The bad thing about the X1600 is the fact that its ONLY 128bit....

But the GTO looks so far so good, since its got VIDEO IN, as well as slightly higher clock speeds, including a better HSF...
also requires additional power with the molex connector and MIGHT get warmer!

    What u think?

Keep the X800, or sell it and get the x800GTO or the X1600?

i would thing the GTO, plus, you can mod that to a x850 whatever

though the performance difference wouldnt be too great

True... the X800GTO has the newer core of R450, correct?
and the x800 has the R430, right?

how bout heat... i dont like heat... matter of fact i hate it! does the x800gto heat up?

What u guys think about the X1600??? it sounds really good, except for its 128bit... why did ATi have to do that? damn...

Only sapphire GTO2 is guaranteed to mod to X850. It has R480 core and can be moded to X850XT and oces to X850XT/PE speeds too.
Thats the best bet now. X1600 might end up little slower than X850XT but it will have more features. Its a toss. I say wait and get X1600.

Sell that X800 and get the X1600. Overclocking is always an option :D

100% success rate at being modded to a x850xt with some of them clocking all the way to x850xtpe.

    Very good deal.

I don't believe the x1600 will be as quick as the GTO2 modded but it will have more features... up to you. I would go with the GTO2 or wait and save for the x1800.

well the x1600 will have SM3.0 as well as AVIVO...

The Sapphire GTO2 is available at newegg.com for $199 (US)...

If the GTO2 has a 100% success rate of being modded... why doesnt Sapphire unlock the pipes and release it as a X800GTO with 16pipes instead of 12... for the same price...

that way not only will all the people who buy it save the time to unlock it themselves... but also Sapphire will truely make a huge number of sales because of its price $199 for a graphic card with 16pipes!
