You'd probably see a better gain in another stick of ram to bump you to 1GB you should also try and make sure both sticks are the same timings as when overclocking if there different you run into issues and if your board supports dual channel thats another plus. A 512MB stick of ram I'm sure can be had for under 50 bucks as well if thats your limit.

the 6200 will prob decrease your framerates, and if it does make them higher, i bet by only about 3 fps, and your 5200 cant be classed as an ultra, if it doesnt have a 128 bit bus

I said a 5200 overclock under Pixel and Vertex shader 1.0-1.4 it outperform a 6200 :) I'm not retarted maybe you are :)

The differences between 5200 and 5600 are only core and mem clocks ...

The PS 2.0 has maybe a little bit more performance on a 6200 card (if it is turbo cache it is terrible ...)

The are ofcourse different brand of card 128 and 64 bit memory and different clocks ...

I only tryied to help you choose a right card because upgrading from a 5200 to a 6200 is basicaly nothing ... just money spent...

You won't notice the performance increase only if you use FRAPS or something to see the extra 2-3 fps in some areas ...

About calling me retarted at least try to read some of my posts and then decide if I am retarted or not :)

just trying to help you not to make a huge mistake like you did when you bought the 5200 ... in the first place.

It seems really that nasapion doesnt have enough money to buy even an outdated 6600GT,
But I suggest buying a 7300gs "if there's any AGP" which is a way way faster instead of the SnaiL performance 6200 Crap,
    I'd like always to help...

    Good day,

The 6200 does have one advantage, it has the h.264 acceleration. If you have to choose then the XFX 6200. It is sorry to say this, but you are wasting your amd64 3400+ with the geforce 6200 with only a 64bit memory interface. But if you are lucky you can unlock the 6200 via rivatuner and turn it into a 6600 non-GT!!!
See this forum for modding a 6200 to a 6600 (it is in German):
    http://www.hardwareluxx.de/story.php?id=1225

Look to the chart and the unlocked 6200 (number 20 and number 18 for the unlocked 6200 with overclock).

As a gamer you should buy at least a geforce 6200 with 128bit memory interface, and that helps a lot in games. Halo, far cry, doom3 will be playable at 1024x768 and at even higher resolution on a geforce 6200 with 128bit memory interface.

Beside the 6200 128bit, the 9600xt is also a very nice choice , it costs almost as much as your mentioned 6200 64bit: the ati 9600xt from jetway. It lacks ps3.0 support, but can run Half Life 2 and FAR CRY at very good framerates per second. And ati gfx cards have great image quality too. Above all the 9600xt is a lot faster than a geforce 6200 64bit. With 256MB video memory you can have better textures in games too.

Man honestly I understand how you feel man, Im only 16, out of school, got no job, and from skimping and saving I turned a standard £200 Acer pc into a decnt rig.

My graphics card cost me £88 which is a bargin and I got a stick of 512mb, and now I play games that my Radeon 9250se would just get sqaushed under.

Before you do anything! have a look about, cos i bet if you got yourself some more money you could by yourself something which would beat the living **** out of the GPU you have now :)

good luck, im not gonna say not buy the 6200 cos its your choice but just think befroe you do anything.

Go with the 9600xt if you are short for cash.. I typically recommend the 6200 to people but they aren't real hard core gamers where 1-3 FPS means life and death.. Another option is to of course.. wait for the next genertion ati and nvidia cards.. and watch as the 6800gt's, 7800's etc and x1800's and x850's etc.. drop in price even more ^_^

    Good day,

That's not entirely true. They perform almost the same. Thanks to the faster gpu core (500mhz) and memory (600 mhz) of the 9600xt, it will be almost as fast as the 8 pipeline 9500pro with 275mhz gpu core and 540mhz 128bit memory. Almost in all games both gfx cards will perform the same. I must admit that the 9600xt will be some slower, like 0.5-1.5 frames per second slower than the 9500pro. In higher resolutions the 9500pro will be some faster, but not much. But again the mentioned jetway 9600xt has 256MB videomemory which are good for better textures detail in games. There's no 9500pro gfx card with 256MB videomemory.

By the way, geforce 6200 with 128bit memory interface is not that bad. And avoid the geforce 6200 with 64bit memory interface, which is only good for office, watching video/movie/dvd, internet surfing and photo editing.

    ^ entirely wrong

    http://www.rage3d.com/reviews/video/ati9600xt/?p=4

The 9500 Pro is almost always on top in all of those benches. The 9600 series as a whole is known to suck compared to the previous series (9500). Many people were upset when they bought their 9600XT cards and found out the 9500 Pro could kick the card up and down the gaming court with a card that could be found on eBay for half the price. Also with an extra 128mb of DDR video RAM it really isnt going to make much difference...
