Alright i am confounded by which game i want to buy, the options are sins of a solar empire, or Team fortress 2, what do you guys think, i am slightly leaning towards TF2 cause i can sometimes get frustrated by strategy games, but sins sounds so cool. Thanks for any help on my dilema, and getting both is not an option.

    Get Solar Empire.

    TF2 standalone is seriously overpriced.

Speak for yourself! Just because you don't give a damn and have no manners or social skills there's no need to tar everyone else with the same brush.

Also, this is not a silly thread. He wants our opinion, why is that silly? :3eyes:

To the OP, I haven't played Sins (not available in the UK yet) but I found TF2 to be lacking in my opinion, I wanted to like it but.. I couldn't.

Try before you buy, if there is a demo for TF2.

Edit: But like the other person said, you could get the Orange box. I absolutely loved Portal! :)

I would seriously go with TF2 as yes it is quite expensive for what it is though the game is simply one of the best ever multiplayer games ever created and the fun and wenjoyment you will get out of it will be worth every penny. It has some of the funniest moments in gaming ever, seriously you will not regret buying it. However, if you want to save some money and get in on one of the best deals of all time then go for the Orange Box, five AAA games, excellent price.

To come to think of it, I haven't been on TF2 in ages.

The original is ALWAYS better. I wish there was a law against song remakes. Seeing Celine Dion sing AC/DC's Shook me all night long scarred me for life. Same with Sheryl Crow singing GNR's Sweet Child of Mine.

Depends if you mind a little work. Sins of a Solar Empire is good, but you have to work at your empire, like any other 4X game, before you can sit back and bask in the glory of your triumph.

Team Fortress 2 is one of the better FPSs out there and its a lot of fun. But if you want a change of pace and want to switch from fast paced real-time action to more slow paced empire building, then Sins can offer both those things.

In the end it's up to you, but if it were me I would get Sins.

Buy both, or buy TF2 and pirate Sins of a Solar Empire, until you can afford to buy it, since Sins and TF2 are probably the only computer games aside from The Witcher worth buying in the last year.

now now, lets not support piracy, but honestly think about it.. do you have more for fast moving action, or do you like a more planned, competitive approach where things like head shots aren't in play, but more of strategy. Haven't you ever thought of overpowering someone with technology, with stronger ships even if they have more? then an rts is for you, because thats what its all about, planning, and execution, an fast moving fps like TF2, is something like your a soldier in a battlefield, you don't really plan, but you still have an objective, so instead of plan and execute, its more of execution constantly, unless your playing a scrim, but even in a scrim, you follow the commander's orders, but in an rts, you are the commander.
