Hmm... I think they gonna use the asian method and the whole money making will be involved on the micro-transactions.
Or you could become so engrossed in your clan that you forget about your partner, your children, shopping or cleaning the house you never leave anyway. Finally you invite one of your clan members to fly over from another state to live with you and your partner, then kick your partner out of bed and ask your clan member to join you. This happened to a friend of mine and he is such a nice guy he just copped it and spends most of his time living on his own now, while the mother of his children plays WOW all day with her new clan partner. She was always a bit of a strange one though so I don't think WOW was the cause of the problem, at least she's not smoking crack with her pimp or whipping her gimp. If your partner starts spending all their time chatting exclusively to one particular clan member however.... ....either secretly sign up to WOW and crack on to that particular clan member, join a huge clan and tell them your partner's clan said that they will pwn them or start checking the new rental advertisements at your local estate agency.
IC Breached So i spoke to a few of my freinds who still play the game on Xfire and they say that they have actully managed to get raids on the IC. Sounds like a big improvement to me! before we were always defending our city and never pushed past the middle cities. Btw im playing on Karag-Azgal server EU. Xfire = Furion1988 Ingame name = Cynid
Those Items are combinations of sentinel items and loot from lair raids + Dungeons. I wanna try and get some warlord items as well but there almost impossible to get. You need somthing like 5 enemy king captures just to buy the helm. Really Really COOL! http://i39.tinypic.com/214xbp3.jpg
Now that looks cool!! When I played trial I started to gather the medallions to get some pretty good items. But it takes, so damn long just to get the atleast 5 soldier medallions(was it?).
I'm on Azgal too, been there since the early access and still haven't got a character to 40. I have a 35 Shadow Warrior, 20 something Knight, 28 Slayer and a couple of tens.
My wife would kill me ten times over if I dared pick up the WOW trial disc I have sitting here. Playing Battlefield 2 for a couple hours one night a week with my clan was such a trial back in the day, my wife used to get really frustrated. Funny thing is, once I stopped playing, my wife wished she had one night a week to her self without me nattering away for hours about the latest technological marvel. I'm actually a little worried I'd enjoy WOW a little too much. Just as well I'm married or I might easily have become a hermit WOW addict. I'm helping my wife build herself a new PC soon, who knows, maybe she might get into gaming too once she experiences the improvements in hardware since her old Pentium 1 with 64MB of RAM (which was top of the line back when she bought it).
I'm not so sure honestly. AION looks to be my type of game more and more. I never even attempted Conan, WaR, or any of the other MMO's besides GW. The others just didn't interest me enough.
I don't see why WoW is so popular and how people can find it so addictive. I got addicted/obsessed with Runescape 3 to 4 years ago and since then I cannot get into any games now. WoW's PvP is ****ing atrocious and I have no patience for the PvE to acquire 'e-peen' items, especially with all the elitist kids running around. Although I have two real-life friends that do 'have a life' but continuously play WoW and never miss guild raids, I'd imagine most WoW players to be starved of attention in real-life. Once my game-card time runs out, I'll probably uninstall WoW forever. Once patch 1.3 comes out for WAR (I left during November), I'll probably give that a try again and also give Aion a try. EDIT: Hell, I was even thinking of going back to LOTRO, for some odd reason, I feel the urge for that.
City raids are crap. If they actually felt like epic city sieges and not 2-hour PQ grindfests then WAR might be playable. Unfortunately right now the endgame is astonishingly bad.
Went with "I hate mmorpg's and I hate YOU for making this thread". But it's more like I can't even think at any MMO anymore without wanting to puke. I guess 2 1/5 years of WOW and a few months of Conan killed all MMO's for me. Plus there's no real end in sight for WOW. I personally do not know anybody who has finished WOW and I work with some serious "I don't take showers because they mess with my WOW time" sort of jack bags. Can WOW really be finished or is it all just BS?
start personal view. Was looking forward to WAR and got into the first and second beta, both where really bad, even the feedback and bugreport was bugged in both versions hehe, but that didnt stop me from trying the Trial with good confidence.. But still, it didn't give me anything at all, it was boring from the char select screen. Now truth be told, i have playd WoW for 4 years and was looking for something new, WAR wasnt it, neither was AoC, tho i liked it better than WAR. If you where to start WoW now, most people would prolly find it horrid, and i agree, the starting areas are crappy BS now, 4years ago it was good at best. But WoW has come a long way since that, and the quests, graphics and story in Wrath proves it. To bad people have to play for weeks/months to get to see it, and most new testers prolly wont even bother to play that long because of what is now considered a really poor start (imo). Why WoW is so popular.. well, i think its because it has the most polished interface, the fact that you can make whatever UI you want helps too, thousands upon thousands are developing and using mods and ui stuff for their char and even that community is large enough to house its own little MMO. People like having shiny things, people collect stamps and worthless coins for christs sake, why wouldnt they want purple swords with lightning coming out of it? Easy to understand text/spells/abilities, is overall pleasing to play and is a cultural and social phenomenon. PvP is ok and competetive. And things work like your suspect them to work. And that is what you get after almost 5 years of extra development and having all the money in the world. Its a casual game that had its hardcore segments tuned down to accomodate more players, and it works, 11.5m payed subcriptions i think the latest number was. Now people might complain (WTF EWOKS!!!), but they always do, and that's fine, its what drives devs to make something new (Jar Jar?). Doesn't always work, but someone might get it right someday. Star Wars: the Old Republic made me stop playing WoW, relax and wait for it to come out. end personal view. edit: changed 'players' with 'payed subsciptions' aso.
what i was trying to conveyis that people find the worst in the best of things and tend to stick to it like a religion. i meet people every day that hate WoW, but have never played it. Hate all Uwe bolls movies, but never seen one. Hate the Ewok's because they never saw the movie when they where young and needed a cozy teddybear to love them and be tender.. um. Because WoW is the Return of the Jedi of the franchise.. and Jar Jar is.. oh nevermind, dont even know what im talking about anymore, ill just shut up now. :bang:
Ok, I got what you were trying to say there! People just tend to dislike something, although they don't know everything about it Well, I can say, I tried WoW and I like WAR more than WoW EDIT: Uwe Boll's movies ARE HORRIBLE, though Far Cry, wasn't as bad as I expected it to be...
