With which cable will I get the better quality image.
I have both a DVI and a VGA connector on both my computer and LCD monitor.
    Which connection is best?

DVI is digital, VGA is analog.

Use this image as a tiled background wallpaper and you should see the difference between vga and dvi. http://i32.tinypic.com/2mru0qx.jpg (right click save as)

Yeah DVI-D delivers the signal exactly as it was intended, VGA doesn't always..

You turned off the PC? Maybe you need to remove your monitor from the hardware control panel and reboot. Dont know what card you have but maybe a driver reinstall helps.

Yes, I turned the PC off. Why would I remove the monitor from the control panel?
My Mother board is Gigabyte H55M-UD2H .
    I have no video card.

    Cable now works

    DVI D cable now works.
Spoke to an expert who said to go to msconfig and disable startup items.
    Everything seems to work now.
Picture is slightly sharper and response is super fast.
