Yeah its probably best waiting to see the reviews and amd to respond before buying anything. ;)

4090 is a safe bet, 4080 will launch along with rx7000 in November anyways so might as well check out the reviews

I'm not impressed with what Nvidia showed. There is no efficiency. It's over priced (Rumor is that the new cards cost Nvidia 50% more to produce than Ampere cards). The 12 gb RTX 4080 seems to be really either a xx70 or xx70 ti card. I'm going to wait to see what AMD has been cooking up. But think I'll pass this gen GPU as I usually do. I have a 3080. So, I'm satisfied with it. So disappointed with Nvidia.

Ampere is so good, you don't have to upgrade for years.
The people who upgrade to ADA because they want to, not because they need it :D

What I love is that they show raw performance on games already run at 200-300 fps on the 3000 and 2000 series.

They are not comparing the 4000 series to the 3000 series apart from including DLSS 3.0

Once the reviews come in from legit reviewers it's going to show that a 4000 series ain't much better than a 3000 series. What will suck is if they stop updating DLSS 2.0 and just say, "meh if you want our updates get a 4000 series." haha

Finally getting a return investment on my 2080 Ti years later. Who would've thought. Yep. Skipping another generation. I'm good

judging by nvidia's charts with non-dlss games like re,valhalla or division,it's 60-65% the performance of 4090 (cut down 102 die), so it's exactly what 1070 was to 1080ti and worse than 3070 was to 3090 (+70%).so yeah, a 1100eur 4070/ti.
I've had nvidia cards since 2015, when I just couldn't take the amount of dx11 overhead I was gettin on r9 290, and really loved every green card I had for perfomance, value and trouble-free experience (980ti/1080/1080Ti/2070S/1070/3060ti) but this time I'm going back to amd, unless they serve us the same scam, which (knock on wood) probably won't happen,at least not to this degree.I'm not buying a card above 650eur price tag, and it looks like nvidia's only proposition for this segment will be
    [IMG]

    agreed,but only with 3080 12g and above.
    I'm really looking forward to seeing 3080ti (999eur atm) kicking 4080 12g's (1100eur) ass.

My rough guess is that in raytracing the gains will be there, but regular rasterized rendering gains will be underwhelming vs 3080/3090. As it currently stands with these prices, I'm buying neither.

At first glance this feels like the 2000 vs 1000 series all over again.

Don't get me wrong, the day that raytracing becomes something common and very mainstream and able to run at high fps, I will care, but until that day I really don't care about it that much.

If you can buy a 4090 without VAT in Europe at 1500-1600 isn't bad if you're enthusiast. Both 4080s are overpriced though and not worth it imo. For now i'm staying with my 3080Ti until we see a new good/demanding game(Like Wukong maybe) then i'll consider it.

2000 Euros for a GPU, and on top of that for a Founders Edition which will go sold out in no time anyway? No thanks, they can keep it. I don't even consider the other two because they are also an even bigger scam.

The 4070 looks like a sidegrade to my 3080
The 4080 would perhaps be 30% faster but cost twice more than I paid for my 3080
The 4090 would perhaps be 80% faster and costs "only" 400-500€ more than the 4080

I'm interested in AMD but I fear that those pesky drivers would be a problem.

Rasterization going forward is always going to be underwhelming, it's hit its peak.

Where is the option for 'None'?

I bought a RTX 3080 a few months ago so I have no interest in buying a 4000 series card at some overinflated price regardless of how much better the performance is or how great DLSS 3 turns out to be. I play games at 1440p anyway and have no plans to upgrade my display for a good number of years as 1440p is the perfect sweet spot for visual fidelity and performance. 4K is a bit overrated, and I say that as someone who plays PS5 and Xbox Series X games in HDR on a 55" OLED TV. The only reason that 4K gaming is viable on PC is because of image upscaling techniques such as DLSS, especially with ray-tracing enabled, but it always demands more and more powerful GPUs at more and more expensive prices.

I got my RTX 3080 for £750 which is as much as I prepared to pay for a high-end GPU that will be superseded by something better within 12-18 months. Heck, I owned my £700 GTX 1080 Ti for 4.5 years before I upgraded so that was a really great investment on reflection and the only reason I bought a new GPU at all was for the ray-tracing and to try out DLSS otherwise I would not have bothered. Now that I have access to those then the thrill of owning newer cards diminishes and I do feel any real excitement for the 4000 cards. I'm sure they will be great but I am not really interested, even if they were reasonably priced.

The real problem is that there are no new demanding games out there justifying the buy of a new expensive card. Jensen showed Portal RTX(Lol) and CP 2077(A 2020 game) with updated RT and DLSS 3. Nothing new. What i would like to see is that RTX Remix tool in action, DX8 and DX9 games remastered with RTX by modders.

Most current RT games are very demanding actually, you have to dial down RT setting along with DLSS mode to get playable FPS even with 3090 at 4K, e.g. CP2077, Dying Light 2, Hitman 3, Sword and fairy 7, Ghostrunner, etc...

Hardly - the 2080 ti was a very meager 30% faster than a 1080 ti, using just traditional rasterization. The 4090 will be more like 70% faster than the 3090.

But yes, the rest of the products are exceptionally underwhelming, especially for the price.

He aint giving a "none" option, as he is obviously a nvidia fanboy, who knows the VAST majority would choose "none"...
