Today is august 5th. Where are the new drivers as promised?
in your a..
I downloaded them from Wikipedia.... can't remember the exact URL though. Maybe try the search at CNN.com???? :3eyes:
No, Nvidia said that on August 5th a new official driver would come out, a WHQL driver with full suport for PhysX.
Maybe you mean these http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=269514 .... the driver that will enable Physx for your 8800 is a Nvidia PhysX driver, not a display driver..... (although future driver releases may contain the PhysX drivers as well).
I have no idea if they're WHQL.
I heard that nvidia was shutting down their graphics department and is moving them all over to their chipset department. They held a secret meeting in a bathroom and asked a toilet paper roll if there was any support for their cards. Their response? Silence. That is why there is such a delay in drivers. I would say the 177.79 drivers are the last ones that will be seen.
This can be found on www.clickthisifyoubelieveeverythingyouread.com
If you have nothing to post...don't post at all. This is garbage.
To answer the OP, there is still 4 hours left here on the east coast till the 6th. It's possible they may be delayed a couple days. Untill then just use the 177.79 beta as its not different than what the WHQL's will be.
Just use the new PhysX driver posted here at Guru3d with the beta's, and you will be fine. WHQL is just a useless stamp of sorts made by MS to say they "tested" them with basic functionality in Windows.
Have the new physX 8.07.18s been verified to be virus free and error free? I dl'd from the first link.
It is a joke...lighten up.
Tux, your link is broken :help:
Imho pretty funny
WHQL = what the hell quit lagging
A whql driver is one you wait a really long time for. I'd rather get a leaked driver from nvidia, who made it in the first place, than wait for Microsoft's' approval. WHQL is just a label, like your jeans, someone made them and then someone else sewed on a label. They are the same jeans/drivers
They've put them back to the 12th due to the 4870 X2 and Cat 8.8's coming that date as well, good old Nv you never fail.
I thought it was very amusing. You have to take it in the context of this article and other related articles from different sites to really appreciate it.
Were the Fck did nvidia promise drivers lol??
OK I'll remember that next time you ask a question. I'll joke too....
Seriously I don't find it funny. If you wanted to crack a joke you could have at least given a serious response afterwards, otherwise its considered sorta rude.
There are just way too many of these posts going on lately...
I've read about the article, but that response had nothing to do with the OP's question. It's not much to keep things clean is it? No harm in joking but the guy had a question....
I know if i asked a quesiton i woudlnt really appreciate a response like that.
The guys original question is more of an angry statement. Its implying as if someone had lied to him. Perhaps you should read more into the OP's post and less into someones joke.
No one promised any drivers on any date...it was only a rumor.
Im glad others found the light humored joke to be funny and sorry you did not.
However now that i responded to the OP can you laugh yet again or is it still a bad thing to post something in humor? feel free to add your own non topic replies to this thread and chastise me for doing the same.
