whats the difference in between these two cards.

    "XFX Geforce 9600Gt" and

    "XFX Geforce 9600Gt" ALPHA DOG EDITION

    Which is more useful

    Ones overclocked more than the other but i'd save yourself a few bucks and get the standard one.

    I could be wrong but I think they use different gpu coolers as well.

    Indeed one has a super long slot cooler like my old one

    and the other one looks like the coolers you find on the 7900GTXs

    EDIT: mine was the XXX Alphadog edition.

    So you mean like a dual slot cooler? If so get that one, dual slot coolers are always better at removing additional heat from your case.

    Pretty much what everyone said, including Kyzler. You'll have a pretty good shot at overclocking the standard card to Alpha Dog Specs. Only advantage to the Alpha Dog is the clocks would be guaranteed.

    Also regarding the Alpha Dog, the majority of sites picture the Alpha Dog using the cooler I posted. However, the cooler Kyzler posted also looks like it "may" be used on one of the Alpha Dog Models (PV-T96G-YDS4). Not sure though, but it is pictured on the on the XFX site. It's also the same length as the cooler on the standard clocked card or same length as the PCB.

    (PV-T96G-YDS4) yep thats the right one i could get 820mhz on the core ;)
