i'm surprised nobody's even mentioned WoW yet. Currently the most popular game, clearly the best MMO out there(i wish it werent true but it is). Not that its my favorite though... I'd probably have to go with CoD4/TF2

I'd have to say Wow without expansion ... before it became the humongous game it is now it used to be quite simple

Might be the oddball but personally it's gotta be Hotel Dusk: Room 215 for the NDS. It was awesome (and a bit frustrating) all the way to the very end, wish I didnt get rid of my DS now ... :bang:

Though it is just over the 5 year mark coming out Nov/Dec '03....

The only thing that could have made it a better game was if it had some multiplayer coop...oh wait they are working on that now aren't they?

Titan Quest crossed my mind as well, and in fact, my room mates and I are just getting to epic now. First time for them, and probably the 6th or so time for myself.

Really hard to choose, loved The Orange Box, Call of Duty 4, SFIV but if I had to choose one it'd be Gears of War out of sheer enjoyment. The refined no-brainer action was perfect, loved everything about the game, shooting/cover mechanics, graphics, multiplayer, weapons, characters. GoW2 was abit of a dissapointment though.

I agree. But then again GOW on 360 is a disappointment as well, so the moral is that gaming is better on PC. Hopefully GOW2 will come out for PC, and then i will enjoy it.

Warcraft 3, probably, certainly gets #1 in terms of play time

However I know exactly what you mean about hl2 John, it really has something special to it that makes it incredibly real, I don't even know what it is because if I try and think about it objectively it shouldn't be as good as it is. The first time I beat it was at like 4am on a school night, I couldn't sleep the rest of the night because it was such an experience.

CoD4 definitely deserves a mention, I almost freaking cried at the end (I might have if I had tear ducts and, you know, weren't such a man), such a solid story and gameplay and characters and the multiplayer is of course endless fun.

Oh and I really liked far cry 2 as well, it has problems definitely but it has so much going for it. I find for me I just need to play it in small doses, like I play for a bit until I get sick of the repetition, then put it away for a while and after a few days or a week or two ill start thinking about it and want to get back into it, repeat
