This is my first time making it with a few little tweaks of my own so I'll know in about an hour if it's good or bad.

Went to a BBQ yesterday, I went with my "specialities", everyone put on the barbeque what they wanted.
I brought homemade honey musted sauce with raw honey, and turkey breast fillets rested in orange juice for a few hours. And some asparagus shoots.
Man, it was a meal to remember, simple but filling.I was too busy digging in and forgot to take pictures.

Well my chicken and rice dish came out ok I would say. I didn't quite get the chicken stock to rice ratio correct so I had to cook it a little longer than I wanted. The chicken was very tender, but a little on the dry side. Oh well, it was a learning experience and good leftover's for later tonight.

Still want some, you got a way with words describing the dish mate. (Post #164), I know, just reading a recipe, but sometimes that is all it takes.

Haha, thanks man, still the dish has much room for improvement. The chicken was really good after eating a second plate, it was tender enough that I could slice through it with a plastic fork. I do like brown rice but it is very very bland, I'm gonna try a little more seasoning next time.

I'm guessing you're talking about a Rue which is the foundation of many, sauces and gravy. I love making gravy, but there is one requirement. You have to use bacon fat.

A simple ham and cheese sandwich with sour cream and onion Pringles. Need to go shopping soon, I think I'll pick up a pork shoulder (aka Boston Butt)

Catfish stew? I've never even heard of that and I live in Oklahoma where catfish is king. Everybody in these parts just fries it with cornmeal batter. I'll have to look into this.
