I have GA-GF1280(geforce2 Mx chip from gigabyte) with 32 MB SDR RAM , i am using the latest manufacturer's drivers , and i am facing the same problem with these games , the computer hangs up during gameplay (after 20-60 seconds) , the mouse stops , everything stops , nothing works but reset button , turning off the "adjust Z-buffer depth to render depth if unequal" delays the hangup to a period of 10-20 minutes , but it still hangs !!! what do u suggest ?
Tell me more about number 6. Is the aperture sze half of your RAM? Should it be and why. What if it isn't? What does it do? I have seen this in BIOS but left it on 64mb. I have 256 RAM.

Also I was running at 800 X 600 then changed it to a higher res but now it wont go back to 800 X 600. It does 600 X 480 but then goes straight to the one above 800 X 600 I think 780 X 1280. Any ideas?

Don't use the gigabyte drivers. Use the NVidia reference drivers and try it out.
And for your convenience, they are located on this very site. Give the Detonator 12.90s a try.

The very first thing you should do is install the correct drivers for your mouse. Driver specific mice (like logitech) can cause lockups if you use generic Windows PS2 drivers
