Why don't you guys throw the idiots who do this garbage out of office? I find it hilariously ironic that it's the so-called "open-minded progressive" governments who turn out to be the most intolerant in the end. Unbelievable.

 

Yep... absolutely ridiculous.
They don't even play the games when they examine them, they watch a video the developers give them. Shows how out of touch they are. If they aren't prepared or have experience playing computer games where the hell do they get off deciding what the rest of us should be allowed to do.

Manhunt 2 is probably a crap game. But the quality of game is irrelevant to whether it should be banned or not. Who the hell is the BBFC to decide on what constitutes "a bleakness and callousness of tone". They passed **** like Norbit for public viewing, 99% of people would probably prefer to play Manhunt 2 than Norbit! BUT it's down to the British Board of Film CLASSIFICATION to inform people of the content. NOT to censor. If some retards what to watch Norbit then that's up to them.

I'm wondering if the examiners been locked up in mental health facilities? I hope so, we wouldn't want them walking the streets! They are clearly going to kill people and rape puppies. Oh wait, I forgot, they have super human intellects and a constitution above that of us proles.
Their track record with films has been good for the pass few years, they don't ban films anymore and cuts are rare. Hardcore porn can be sold in Borders bargain bins rated 18... so they have it half right. But they seem to be stuck in the 90's in regards to censorship on games.

 

Damn, sometimes I really hate conservative idiots obsessed with censorship while usually doing unbelievably nasty things in the secrecy of their own homes.

How I long for the day that computergames will be looked upon at the same level as movies and books (they all had their troubled beginnings, but looky now, the most worthless gory tortureporn movies like saw and hostel can be viewed everywhere)

 

I didn't realize that people such as Tipper Gore and Hillary Clinton were conservatives. Truth be told many liberals are just as hell bent on censorship with music, movies, games,etc...as any conservative you can name.

 

It's all a load of B.S. All this type of stuff. Anyone with half a brain knows it's a damn game, a work of fiction. They ban these things in some half-assed lame attempt to "protect society", so they can say that they "care about your well being." Besides, to ban these games, is a hell of a lot cheaper then say, you know, more/better free mental health clinics or something actually worth doing.

 

It is a ****ed up world we live in, this kind of censorship ( and it is censorship basically) is what gets people all fired up and wanting to make signs up and protest. I don't view the US as being a totally free country, that's why I laugh when 4th of July rolls around and all the news have reporters on talking about how we should value our freedom. Where's the freedom when I can't go down the street without a seatbelt on for example. If I wanna go flying out my front windshield and die it would truly be freedom if I was free to not wear my seatbelt,IMHO. Ahh I'm tired I guess but USA is still better place to live than a lot of other countries, at least we don't have some power crazy, dictator... oh never mind

Conservatives are so entrenched in outdated concepts that learning new aspects abut society blows their little minds. Thats why gay rights have stalled because of their unwillingness to accept all that society is made up of.


Its the censor board you should direct that at and not government. If there is a problem with violence people should target the gun makers, since they produce the weapons used in killings. Although the UK govt pretends to be left wing, to get poor people to vote for them, they are actually pretty right wing and socially conservative. Gordon Brown keeps talking about how morality is very important in politics, etc.

Anyway, the manhunt decision is absurd, if an adult wants to play a violent video game, then the state has no place telling him that he can't.
