They will play one of the songs I've written and recorded. Just to make it that much more dramatic :D.

Not too fast GSB, I'll be 36 this year too! Don't you be going around saying we're getting old!!! :p:p

Of course I would know those songs, who they're from, when they were released, and even tour dates!! I grew up with it, still loving it, wrote and play even harder....

At a friends funeral last week (avatar), his mum chose Eva Cassidy - Over The Rainbow for him and his dad.

A slight contrast to the type of music it looks like most of you would choose. It was a good choice though, as for many it helped the grieving process.

when you die your family will most likely perform the funeral how they want, not how you wish it to be.

Plus might throw in Strawberry Fields for my dad.

    Joke answers: (Yet still playable)
Another one bites the dust - Queen
    Zombie - The Cranberries
Can't you hear me Knocking - Rolling Stones

    Good thread idea.

I worked as an electrician on the justice tour and the black album tours.
I just recently sold a Cliff Kill em ALL concert shirt [it was autographed]
and given to me from one of the tour personnel for $1,000. wOOt!
I used to have sooo much stuff from them and GNR but all I have left now is
a Kirk guitar pick and some other goodies.

Everyone has great picks, but enough with the sad songs.

I understand when someone dies you're suppose to be sad, cry and express your love for that person.

I guess I see death differently. Yeah, feel sad for me, but have fun!!! I want people to remember me going out with a bang, and having a good time, not gathering around and a bunch of people crying.

    Burn Baby Burn, disco inferno...

    :heh: That's a good one.

I also loved Metallica before 'Black'...and Megadeth.

Pink Floyd, The Doors, and Led Zep are my all time three favs though.....I remember this song from the Doors, I can't remember the name of it though it goes something like this....."Choose that crew and the ancient ones the time has come again, choose now they crew, beneath the moon, beside an ancient lake. Enter again the sweet forest, enter the hot dream come with us. Everything is broken up in dances."

But at my funeral I would want Faith no More's 'The Real Thing' played.

My pick is nowhere near a sad song.....in fact it's one of the heaviest metal ballads there is...

Jeez, this is a tough one. I'd either be Angel, Possession, or Gloomy Sunday, all sung by Sarah McLachlan. Gosh, to pick one.... I'd pick, Angel.

    Spend all your time waiting
    For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
    There’s always one reason
    To feel not good enough
And it’s hard at the end of the day
    I need some distraction
    Oh beautiful release
    Memory seeps from my veins
    Let me be empty
    And weightless and maybe
    I’ll find some peace tonight

In the arms of an angel
    Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
    Of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort there

So tired of the straight line
    And everywhere you turn
There’s vultures and thieves at your back
And the storm keeps on twisting
You keep on building the lie
That you make up for all that you lack
    It don’t make no difference
    Escaping one last time
It’s easier to believe in this sweet madness oh
This glorious sadness that brings me to my knees

In the arms of an angel
    Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
    Of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort there
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here

My gosh it is so good. Whenever I hear that song played somewhere, I always stop and listen till the end. That's the song I want played at my funeral, for sure.
