I'm looking at getting a monitor because my wife wants her TV back. :(

Anyway, I'm looking at freesync and gsync options but the monitors that run at a res over 1080 are pretty pricey. Especially the ones that are 27".

So I'm curious what everyone else uses....I'm personally reluctant to go smaller than 27" but really is 25" enough? If I go 25" do I really benefit from 1440p or is that res really best represented on a larger screen?

You know, stuff like that...so what do you guys use?

I'm running the Acer Predator XB270HU, 27" 1440p 144Hz with an IPS panel. Was using some noname 27" 1080p 60Hz TN screen before. I would never again go back, sorry... if it's worth the hefty price is to decide for everybody by themselves, but I have no regrets tbh.

    The Asus MG279Q looks so good for 500$. IPS 1440p 27" 144Hz w/ Freesync.

    1080p, 27'', 120 Hz.

As much as I like eye candy, I value higher framerates (for fluent gameplay) more. Aiming for 80+ FPS in most SP games and obviously 120 minimum in MP games.

What about a 4k monitor? I Don't have the hardware to push it but I could Play at a lower red on a 4k right? Or does it not look as good not playing at a native red of the monitor?
